The Psychotic Elf

[The Fifth]

The elf rolled over again, murmuring some more. "Tomorrow.. we'll go... maybe soon... come back, we're not ready... no!" The last word was almost a shout, and he awoke, startled. 'Snaga' sat up, then sluggishly fell upon the dirt again. He whimpered, then vomited out a black fluid along with grainy brown objects, then sat erect, glancing towards Thengise.

Kalia looked at the stuff he had spewed and stepped away. She didn't want to hurt his feelings, but it was just so gross! She looked at him.
"Are you all right? Want some water? Food? What happened?" she asked, looking at him.

[The Fifth]

Snaga trembled and allowed the rest to drip down. He looked up at Kalia, and didn't reply.

Kalia ran over to her pack and took out a small piece of cloth. She came back over and sat in front of Snaga but away from the vomit, holding up the cloth.
"I'm going to wipe your mouth, all right? Because you're pretty dirty, and I don't want you to eat any of that. Here, sit forward," she said, holding the cloth on her hand.

He sat forward, and almost went to sleep again.

Kalia put her hand behind Snaga's head and gently held it up while softly patting his mouth and chin with the cloth.
"There, is that better? Here, go back to sleep. I'll wake you guys up when it's time for dinner, ok?" Kalia said, looking into Snaga's eyes and seeing he was tired. She gently lowered his head back onto the ground and watched him close his eyes.

Thengise looked at the vomit on the floor but didn't move because she didn't want to startle Snaga. Instead she fell back asleep by Snaga once more.

Kalia looked at Thengise and smiled. She was so trusting. She stood up and walked out of the camp to a little stream, to wash the cloth. As she stood up, she decided to wash her injured leg. So she sat back down and washed the dried blood off. She stood back up and walked back into the camp. Immediately, she knew that something was different. She didn't know what, but something was.

The elf woke up momentarily to watch Kalia, but then fell back into a deep, uneasy sleep.

Kalia sighed and relaxed. It was just the crazed elf. He had been momentarily awake. She looked up. The sky was beginning to get lighter. She looked around and saw that everyone but her was asleep. She turned and went to prepare a breakfast of yummy pancakes, grabbing the various ingredients from her bag. She didn't notice as someone came up behind her.

Thengise woke up still sitting by the elf. For once in a long time she had slept on the floor instead of a tree. She quietly got up and saw that Kalia was making breakfast. She walked over to Kalia and said,"Looks good." She said looking at the pancakes and realizing she had startled Kalia. "I always seem to startle you,"Thengise giggled.

Kalia smiled and thrust a bowl with ingrediants into Thengise's hands.
"Why yes you do. And since you're the first one awake, you can help me! How did you sleep?" Kalia asked, heating the fire.

Later than the others, the elf arose, slowly sitting up. He smelt the food, and watched the others.

"I slept well as a matter of fact even though i wasn't in the comfort of a tree. What about yourself?"Thengise asked as she finished making the last batch of pancakes.
She looked over at Snaga and realized he was waking.

Thengise saw how Snaga was watching. She went over to Snaga and set a plate of food in front of him along with a glass of water. "I thought you might like some,"she said to Snaga as he stared at her.

Kalia focused on the mix.
"I didn't sleep. I didn't realize it, but I was up all night. Is your friend awake?" she asked, looking at Snaga.

[The Fifth]

'Snaga' looked down at the plate. He had almost forgotten that the gag was still on, and reached behind his head to take it off.

Thengise helped Snaga unbind his arms and let him take off the scarf on his mouth. She just left the legs tied as they were. She watched as he began to eat the food. He seemed starved.

The elf soon finished eating, and pushed the empty plate away. He looked down at the ropes, and then took a sip of water. ((Yeah, I know, not much to say.))

Kalia looked over as Snaga ate and smiled. At least he liked the food. She stood up and walked to them.
"I'm going to go take a look around, ok? Please don't run away," she asked Snaga as she flew away.

Kalia looked down and saw Snaga get closer to Thengise. She looked back up and swooped around the area, looking for the quickest path to Ithilien. They were about half a day's travel from it, so she scouted out for trouble and paths. No trouble so far, and just the one path. That worked for her. She flew back down and landed, telling the others how close they were to Ithilien.

((In case you don't know, Snaga is the Orkish word for 'slave'.))

'Snaga' listened, but didn't exactly know what she was talking about. He tried to stand up again, but fell back yet again. He snarled, and began to pull the ropes off.

((Well, I'm going too. Have a good night, and may Morgoth maim and curse you all (According to wraiths, that is a polite thing to say. :P).))

Sorell watched from the trees, watched and wondered. He leapt down and went to the elf. Crouching beside the ravenous eater, he realised that this elf was not crazy, just sad, traumatised and incredibly depressed. He whispered to him,
"Hello, my name is Sorell."
The elf mumbled "Snaga."
Sorell bent closer and asked a question.
"Do you know of faeries? I am one of their kin."
The elf suddenly yelled out, and threw his bowl behind him. Then he thrashed around with his arms and legs, screaming out. His hand caught Sorell on the cheek, and he was thrown back. He sat up, holding a bleeding cheek. Collette ran up.
"What did you say to him?" she yelled at Sorell. Then, not waiting to hear the answer, she went to sooth the elf.
This was so unfair, that she should assume it were his fault, that Sorell was speechless. All he had done was tell the elf he was a faery. Everyone else had spoken to him. But the minute he went wacko, Sorell got the blame. That was very distinctly unfair. Sorell got up and flew off. He didn't say much, but that didn't mean that they could all put the blame on him. He healed his cheek-no-one cared about that, he supposed, and flew off to his tree.

Nayru went up to Collete and the elf. "Sorell really didn't do anything. All he said was that he was a faerie, and he started thrashing around. So could you please forgive him?" Nayru doesn't wait for Collete's answer, and flies into the air to find Sorell. She approached his favorite tree.
"Sorell, Collete forgived you. Come on down, eat some breakfast. We can try to communicate with Sanga." Sorell shook his head and turned away from Nayru. She beckoned him to come down.
"You don't know how it feels to not have parents. It saddens me. And sometime I can see them, but I never know it's them. At least you knew your parents." A lone tear dropped down Sorell's wounded cheek.
"I didn't know my parents for long. They were killed when I was 100 by our fearie standards. All I have to remember them is this picture and the necklace that is the purpose they are dead." She took the picture out of her bag. She pulled the necklace out from under her shirt. "This. This is why my parents are dead. Dwaeves attacked us because someone stole that necklace from them, and it wasn't my father. They thing is, I remember when they killed them. I heard my mother screaming and she told me to take the necklace and run. That was the last time I ever heard her voice. My father followed me out to the end of the yard, and said he would follow me forever. He was shot down by an arrow. The last thing he said was fae, "Y kantale hut. I love you."
She heard Sorell echo her say the translation from fae. She stared at him with her silver eyes. They sat in the tree together, looking at each other, not saying a word.

'Snaga' panted, then crawled away from Collette. He curled up against a log, and clawed at it angrily. He glared at them all, then turned his head and sniffled, trembling more.

Collette stared haughtily at her plate of food.
She had forgotten to make breakfast this morning which was seemingly the only useful contribution she had made to these travelers.
She had overreacted.She did not know much about sorell, for he seldom spoke to her, and she seldom spoke to him because he was to sad and instantaneous for a hobbits liking. He obviously didnt know much about hobbits to think she had acted cruelly in any way. She loaded a plate of food for sorell and made a small laugh under her breath at thengise's lumpy pancakes. " im sorry i overreacted. If you had been watching last night as i almost know you were, you should know my now you must chose your words wisely around him ( meaning snaga ). We dont know his story yet and we dont know what will sadden him or anger him. * she handed him a plate of food and a hankercheif from her pocket for his cheek*

'Snaga' stopped scratching at the log, and watched as blood dribbled down his fingers and branched out all over his hands. He picked up a leaf and ate it, then picked up another and wiped the blood off. After that was done he curled up into a ball, and observed more.

Collette began recollecting the contents of her pack, that had been strewn about, in thengise's search for a skillet.
She had absoluetly no idea where they were heading now, but was prepared to stumble after her friends with trust.
" where are we going now? " she asked thengise, but lost attention in her answer. She tied her pack to her pony and watched Snaga intently.

[The Fifth]

'Snaga' crawled/stumbled over to Collette, and looked up at the pony. He then mumbled, "Where do we go? Where.. do you take me?"

Collette bent down to 'Snaga' and told him kindly " Thengise and Kalia want to take you to be healed so you wont hurt anymore. i think we are going to rivendell"
she offered him the hankercheif that Sorell had refused for his hand.

[The Fifth]

The elf did not seem to be interested in the handkerchief, and sat still. The morning sky was periwinkle-colored and blotched with light grey clouds. The sun shone through and reflected itself in his eyes as he looked up. He looked at his hands, which still had a bit of blood on them.

Thengise went over to Snaga again and sat by him. She began to like his company. She looked at him and wondered why he hurt Sorell. She thought about his name. It didn't seem like an elvish name at all.

"What is your elvish name,"she asked the elf.

'Snaga' answered after thinking a while. "Don't.. know..." he muttered, and clawed at the ground. He gazed at Thengise with an extremely sad look in his eyes.

Kalia sat up and realized she had zoned out. She looked at the sky and saw that it was later than she thought. She stood and went to Thengise, Collette, and 'Snaga'.
"Hi, what are we all doing? Where are Sorell and Nayru?" she asked, looking around.

The elf stood up suddenly, and growled. He broke the ropes off. 'Snaga' then lept up a tree, and looked around for something.

Kalia answered before she took off.
"I have no idea what he's doing, but I'm going to get him."

Thengise raced after Snaga as well. She wanted to make sure that kalia didn't hurt him. She also wanted to make sure he didn't run away. She started to jump from tree to tree.

Kalia looked down and saw Thengise in the trees below. She looked back up and flew at 'Snaga'. When she got to him, she braced her injured arm and picked him up, lowering him to the ground. When down, she rubbed her arm and caught his arm.
"What are you doing?" she asked softly. "We won't hurt you, and we'll make sure no one will, but where are you going?"

Thengise grabbed Snaga by the hand.

"Do not leave. We will not hurt you."she said looking in his eyes and saw the distant light in them. "Can I call you Calad? It means light in elvish."

" yes, Calad........." thengise whispered running a hand through his hair and gazing at him. Collette had seen thengise stare before, but never like this. It was almost Infatuated. Collette had to whistle to get her attention, and when she did thengise looked up and her eyes were filled with a sparkle of some sort. Collete shook her head and walked off muttering something inaudible as thengise blushed.

Calad stared at Thengise, and then shoved her away, backing off and then leaping up the tree again.

Kalia sighed and took off again. Yet again she caught him, and brought him back to earth.
"I swear to you, we will not hurt you. Why do you keep running away?" she asked him, planting her hand on his shoulder and lookin into his eyes. "Do we need to restrian you? Because I don't want to. But I will if I need to."

The elf grabbed her hand, and attempted to throw her over himself. He then growled, and ran into a bush.

Thengise quickly got up she wasn't hurt, but wondered what had caused him to do that. She followed him and stared down at the bush

"What are you doing? Do you plan on running away? We won't hurt you."she said with a soft smile on her face.

Calad stood up from the bush, and glared at her. He reached towards his scabbard, and unsheathed a dagger.

Collette remained nuetral, as she had a feeling she would need to save her energy for later, because Thengise was holding back her tears for the moment, but Collette had no idea how long she would last.
That night Collette found her in a tree , adn after many minutes of scrambling, struggling, and slipping from branches, she was up in a tree with her best friend. ' of all the elves in Middle Earth Thengise.....Why? Why????? '

Kalia looked at him and gasped. Where did he get a dagger?! She ran behind him and tried pulling it from his grasp.

Unknown to them, but as he had escaped from where he was imprisoned, he had stolen the weapon and slain the guards. He turned to Kalia with a wild look plastered all over him, and raised the dagger slightly, pulling back.

Thengise was still standing there in shock and said,"Calad put the dagger down. We won't hurt you so you don't have the right to hurt us,"she said in a calm voice.

Kalia began running around him in circles, trying to confused him and to get him disoriented. She saw him raise the dagger and ran quicker, snatching at the dagger.

Calad trembled, then eventually forced the dagger away. He shifted his eyes around, seemingly thinking quickly, and then screamed, stabbing himself in the arm and crumpling to the ground.

Colette had lost her sense completely . all she saw was Calad with a dagger threatning her friend of friends and jumped in front of her and waited to be stabbed to save a life worth living.

Thengise runs to Calad and forces pressure on the wound.

Kalia stopped running and looked at 'Snaga', frozen with shock. He had stabbed himself. Regaining her bodily functions, she tore a piece of cloth from the hem of her gown and wrapped it around the wound, after pulling out the dagger and laying it at his side. She tightened the cloth and pulled him into a sitting position.
"Now what was that all about?" she asked sternly.

[The Fifth]

Calad attempts to kick Thengise off of him. He pulls the dagger out, then stabs himself in the leg, making a sound that seems to be a cross between a bark and a loud scream.

colette had a flashback " THE GAUZE!" SHE SHREIKED WITH DELIGHT AT REMEMBERIGN THE MEDICAL SUPPLIES kALIA HAD REFUSED WHEN SHE WAS INJURED. aFTER RUMMAGING THROUGH HER PACK , SHE CAME BACK AND BAGAN TO DOCTOR THE AILING ELF.

The elf growled weakly, and tried to punch her away with his good arm and hand.

Kalia frowned. Why was he doing this? She pulled the dagger out of his hands and tossed it near her pack.
"Okay, you wanna know something? It annoys me when people don't answer my questions. So I'm gonna ask you one more time. Why are you doing this?" she asked, gritting her teeth, trying to hold back from yelling.

Calad mumbled, "...don't do that... they always did it, everyday... it was filled..." He tore off the fabric of his tunic at the shoulder, revealing the symbol of the Eye of Sauron branded into the skin. "...don't know..."

AY!! * has a new-found attitude and grabs him by the scruff of the shirt * IM NOT GOING TO HELP YOU IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE VIOLENT NOW SIT DOWN!!!! * continues in a heated anger. he had hurt her friend , attemted to kill her and corrupted the minds of everyone else *

He stares up at Collette, slightly suprised at the angry hobbit. The elf goes limp, but continues to quiver.

Kalia pushed Collette down.
"Calm down, little one. We'll get the answer out of him in time, but right now, he doesn't need to be yelled at. Sure, I was going to yell, but I restrained myself. Now, you do likewise and calm down," she said, giving Collette a reproachful look.

Sorry, lost my head a bit there * continues to gently apply the hobbiton medical bandages to the bleeding leg and shoulder of Calad in silence *

The elf regained a bit of his sanity for a moment, and a tear rolled down his face. "..am sorry for being so beastly..."

Kalia smiled.
"It's all right, as long as you promise not to do it again. You could really hurt someone or yourself," she said, patting his good shoulder.

Calad lay down, and looked at the bandages. He turned his head so that one cheek pressed on the ground, and closed his eyes halfway. It was only morning, he had only woken up an hour ago, and already he was exhausted again.

Kalia turned to Collette and Thengise.
"Come on, let's let him sleep. He needs it if he's going to heal," Kalia said, thinking of her own wounds. Her leg had begun to feel better, and it was healing nicely, but carrying 'Snaga' today had reopened her arm wound. She shrugged and stood up, walking away.

Calad soon fell asleep. He began to squirm and whimper, like the night before, mumbling a few foul Orkish words.

Collette thought of her home in hobbiton , and sang a funny rhyme under her breath to make herself feel better, and wached Thengise in her tree

Thengise forgave Calad but decided to sleep in a tree right above him this time. She heard his whimpers through out the night. She felt bad for him but was also confused for she had no idea what the orcs had done and what it was that caused him to be so violent.

Calad awoke with a fright, and leant forward while setting his good arm onto his knee. The elf winced as the pain made his leg and arm throb, crying out for a moment but then flopping sluggishly onto his back once more, with his eyes wide open.

Collette changed her song to something Legolas had taught Thengise and her about the sea,.... and after a few verses, Thengise joined in and they were both laughing , making the journey easier for eachother. ' of all the elves thengise.....' she muttered

Kalia walked off again, trusting the others to keep Calad at bay. She walked to the stream and sat, dipping her legs into the ice cold water. It stung for a little, but she was soon used to it. She closed her eyes and let her mind wander, not hearing neither the merry song from within the camp nor the small yelp from Calad.

After a couple more minutes, Kalia stood and dried her legs. She then walked back into the camp and listened to the song. Realizing that she knew it, she joined in, her quiet voice adding the the perfect sounds of the other two voices.

Collette walked over to Calad and asked him what was wrong. It will not hurt for long..dont worry - there is herbs within the bandage that is healing your wound- it will be better in no time * offers him breakfast << or lunch or dinner, i forgot what time it was >>*

The elf refused the food, although his stomach was complaining. The food from before had not done much.

Kalia stopped singing and walked to her pack. She pulled out six apples and handed one to everyone, including Calad.
"Well, shall we be off to Ithilien now?" she asked, growing impatient. They had spent too much time here, and it was making her feel uncomfortable.

Calad dropped the apple and stood up slowly. He could tell that they were about to leave this place.

Kalia loked at him.
"Now, are you going to be good?" she asked him. "Or do we have to tie you up again?"

Thengise stopped singing and jumped off of the tree in front of Calad. She stared down at him for awhile then packed her things getting ready to leave.

"..tie, tie, can be dangerous..." He muttered, then limped over to Thengise's tree.

Why Ithilien? I thought we were going to Rivendell! * gathers her pack and loads it onto the stubborn pony, it growls at her * SHhhhh!

"I know, but I need to grab my supplies, and we should stock up on food and supplies," Kalia said, mounting her horse. She looked back as she saw the others mounting their horse too. But there wasn't one for Calad! "Come here, Calad. You may use my horse. I'll fly. Thengise and Collette, keep track of him. I'll be watching you from above," she said, flying into the air and watching as calad mounted her horse. "Well, to Ithilien!" she called.

Calad had not ridden on horseback for a while, but got the horse to join the others in a slow gallop.

Collette took the cookie away and began to eat it after the horse started to move. it gave an evil snort.

Kalia laughed as Collette fooled the horse. She looked at the rest of the group and saw Sorell and Nayru talking. She looked back up and almost crashed into a tree.

Sorell flew down to join the group, landing on his horse. He rode to Collette.
"I am thankful for the food. Here is your plate. And..." he paused, not quite sure how to phrase it..." It is not that I don't like you..I don't talk much anyway, ask Kalia. I do like you, it is just that you are always surrounded by friends, and I have only three friends. I find it hard to make them." Sorell shifted uncomfortably. He was about to tell of his parents, that she may understand his sorrow, but at the last minute decided not to, which was probably not the best idea. But he found it hard to talk about his parents. Thengise watched the fairies flying above them. They seemed so content when soaring through the air. She looked over at Collette and saw the angry pony. She looked over at Calad who had been quiet through out most of the ride and smiled. It seemed that at times he was almost sane.

Nayru rode up next to Sorell. "You still seem worried. What's wrong?" She asked. Nayru matured more and more by the day.

"I almost told Colette about my parents." Sorell said.

"And? Isn't that a good thing? Maybe she would understand you better." Sorell shook his head.

"Maybe you need a little fly. Go up there with Kalia. I'll catch up."

Nayru wispered 'Delion hi erit.' *Follow the others in fae* and she jumped off and flew into the sky.

Kalia waved as Nayru joined her in the air.
"Hello Nayru. What brings you up here?"

Collette was silent. Sorell was a good person, she knew that.
But something about him gave of an aura of toughness and being shy. She almost had him figued out, Her very own brother was just like that, acted tough and shy to cover up real feelings that were either pain or misery.
something also gave her the feeling if seh were a bit more open to Sorell, he would have told her, and wouldnt be so shy and quiet if he did maybe....but she told herself she wouldnt dare ask.

Calad continued to ride, and looked up at the faeries flying above. He had no interest in what they were talking about, but he could hardly hear them over the wind in his ears, anyway.

Collette became immensly bored and sore once more, and decided to sing another song with Kalia, Thengise and whoever els might now it and join in.

Calad slowed down a bit, lagging at the back of the group.

As Thengise sang she looked back at Calad and saw he was lagging behind.

"Noro lim!"she yelled to the horse and the horse sped up to them.

"We can't have you lagging behind. You don't talk much. So how old are you,"she said knowing he was around the same age.

The elf had forgotten how old he was.. he merely shrugged, and clung onto the horse's neck; suprised at the sudden burst of speed.

Collette tried to smile at Calad, as he clung to the horse. She remebered the same reaction when she was foirst on the horse. She wondered though, Clad was an elf. there must have been a time when he rode horses. Answers would oon come, she did not speak her thoughts

Calad started to wonder where Ithilien was, and stopped clinging to the horse as the steed seemed to be annoyed by it, but continued to gallop on, between trees, over grass, past twigs that snapped as the horses stepped on it.

"WE're alost to Ithilien, just a bit more!"

Thengise smiled knowing that they would soon be there. It brought them one step closer to healing Calad.

They had soon reached the gates of Ithilien. Thengise stopped her horse at the gates along with the rest of her companions.

Kalia landed and stood next to Calad. She looked at his face and saw a blank stare. She patted his back led the horse into the city.

Calad stared straight ahead as she led him into Ithilien, his mind was elsewhere. As he came back to reality, he saw the city and quivered, shrinking down in his seat.

Thengise walked into the city. She had only been there once as a child. She looked at Collette who was in aww. Collette looked over at Thengise and then over at Calad. Thengise knew what she was thinking, How could Thengise have feelings for Calad who made no sense was a psycho. Thengise thought about it. I guess it was because she saw a glowing light within him which still lived even after going through all he had gone through.

She looked over at Kalia who seemed to be pondering the same question as she looked at Calad and then Thengise.

"Welcome," Kalia said, "to fair Ithilien! This is where we will be stopping for a while, to stock up on supplies, and to and to take a short rest before the ong part of our journey." Kalia took the horses and brought them over to a stable right next to the gates, where they could be easily accessed. She led the group through twists and turns and to Faramir's dwelling. "Shall we go inside?" she asked.

Calad followed along silently as he was led through Ithilien, getting strange stares from passersby and glaring back at them. As they reached Faramir's house, he screeched and hid behind Thengise.

Thengise grabbed Calad by the hand and took him into Faramir's house. They sat down together by the rest of the companions.

Kalia bowed to Faramir and introduced each of her companions. He bowed to each in return and sat back down.
"Lord, may we each have a room in which to stay for a few days, and some money that we may be able to buy supplies? Or will you be giving us supplies?" Kalia said, looking into his eyes.
"I shall of course be giving you the supplies, and you shall stay in the extra quarters in my home," Faramir replied, looking at her. He snapped his fingers and a butler person came out. He led them to their rooms, Calad first, not trusting him. When Kalia was shown to her room, she walked to the bed and dumped her stuff on it. She walked into the bathroom and began to wash up.

Thengise was placed in a room across from Calad and next to both Collette and Kalia.
She set her things down and layed on the bed. She heard a screech coming from Calad's room She ran into his room and saw him on the floor by the bed. He was mumbling words and heard him say,"prison! no no. let me out."

Thengise rushed by Calad's side and pulled him onto the bed. He began to kick at her but then realized who it was and stopped with a sad look on his face.

"Do not worry. This is not a prison. This is a room and you need to rest,"Thengise said softly as she stroked his hair.

Kalia burst into the room and saw that everything was now ok. "If you don't mind I think i'm going to sleep on the chair by his bed,"Thengise told Kalia.

Kalia smiled at Thengise as she offered to stay with Calad in his room.
"Sure," she said, walking to Calad. "Are you all right?" she asked, looking at him and stroking his head.

Calad stared at Kalia but didn't do anything. At the moment he was partially sane and realized how tired he was. He was soon asleep on the bed

"Well good night. See you in the morning,"Thengise said to Kalia as Calad fell asleep.

Collette was jumping on her bed , to test its comfort. ' WHEEEEEEEEEEE!" then something below it smashed and her bed went lopsided. She proceeded in touching the painting over the bed post , and it ended up falling the floor with a sickening thud . She tryed to put it back up, but all it did was scratch the frame. ' OoopS! 'She wa poking at the sculptures, but they ended up falling over too with a loud crash that sent Thengise and Kalia running into the room. " What happened ?!" the scremed observing Collettes room in an array of tatters . " i was just...it fell and - "
Thengise sighed loudly and went back to her room.

"Good night," Kalia laughed, walking out of the room. She closed the door and went back into her room. Once there, she tried sleeping, but couldn't. Everything was black, and then came back into focus. She stood up and opened the window. Kalia leapt out and plummeted to the ground. She tried opening her wings, but couldn't. She woke up gasping and sweating. She looked around and found that she was still in her room, but the window had been left open. She walked over and closed it. When she turned back around, there was another note, but thi time on her pillow. It read:
Leave the elf alone. Leave him alone if you value yours and your friends' lives.
She shook her head and ripped it up again. Stupid. There was no possible waty she would stop from helping Calad. She climbed into bed and fell asleep, this time having a peaceful sleep.

Collette awoke the next morning with a smile on her face as she rolled of her bed and walked to Kalias room in her Pajamas and offered her breakfast. Thengise was in Calads room, and she suspected they had already gotten breakfast since the pancakes she held were lumpy, the way a certain elf enjoyed them . ' Hi Kalia! want some breakfast? are you okay?'

Kalia sat up.
"Breakfast would be great right about now. Yeah, I'm fine. I just had a nightmare. How did you sleep? I trust you didn't kill anything else?" she asked, grinning.

Thengise comes into the room bringing Calad with her by the hand. He throws himself on the floor and starts rocking back and forth

"Well I hope you all liked breakfast,"Thengise said blushing since she thought they were awful. She was used to having other people making her breakfast and was knew at the whole cooking thing.

She looks at them both and notices the frowns on thier face. "Why so down?"Thengise asked realizing how Collette was red with anger.

"Nothing, nothing's wrong," she said, looking at Collette. She hoped she hadn't hurt her feelings. She bent down and helped clean up the dishes on the floor.

Collette left with the dishes with a face so nuetral, it was as if her head were thouhtless and untraceable at the moment, a gift she had discovered when she stumbled and broke a picture in Bag End when seh went to visit her best friends

Thengise knew that everything wasn't ok. She looked at her friends as they picked up the dishes and realized they were trying not to show their face. "Please tell me what's going on,"she pleaded looking at Calad and becoming worried.

Just then Sorell came running in, nearly knocking Thengise over.
"Sorry...Kalia! Look what was on my chair!"
Sorell held out a note, and Kalia took it. It was prnted in the same way as hers, and said more or less the same thing;
"If You value your friends and your life, let the elf go."
Kalia shrugged and ripped it up. "Have some breakfast Sorell," she said.
Sorell sat down and tasted Thengise's burnt offering. He made the very hint of a face, then went on eating, with a slight smile. Thengise was grateful to him for not commenting on the awful state of it.

Nayru ran into the room every one else was in.

"Kalia! Sorell! Someone was on my room last night!" Nayru must of scared Calad because he hid his face in his hands.

"How do you know?"

"The bracelet my adopted widow mother gave me is missing. Ya know, the silver one that said Meleth an uir. It's gone! I sat it on my dresser last night and when I woke up, it wasn't there! It's the only thing of my Widow's that I have! We have to find it!!!!"

Collette ran back into the room, hearing the panic that had erupted while she was gone. 'Your bracelet was gone? but how? the only window you had in your room was no bigger tahn a bread box! and guards patrol the city. no one could have come in to take your bracelet!'

"I don't know how they got it, but they did. I looked EVERYWERE! It's not in my room. And I had it last night before I went to bed. That thing is very precious to me."

"Nayru, We are kinda busy trying to heal Calad. We can get you another bracelet." Thengise said as nicely as she could.

"NO! I'm finding it now." She ran out of the room.

Collete started to go after her, but Sorell stopped her. "Wait. I have know her longer. I'll calm her down." Sorell moved his hand and went out the door.

Kalia sat down in a chair, her mind swimming. No one could've given them the notes unless they had followed them from Mirkwood, but Thengise, Sorell, Collette, and Nayru were to be trusted. She then thought about Nayru's bracelet. No one- wait. Why had Calad hidden his face in his hands when she came into the room and stated her dilemma? She called Thengise over.
"Thengise, will you and Collette ask Calad if he knows anything about the bracelet? Slip it into some casual conversation. I'm going to help Sorell calm Nayru and then I'm going to look around," she instructed, walking out the door.

Thengise nodded at the request and went over to Calad. "Hello! What are you doing down there? Well did you hear the awful news? Nayru lost her bracelet! Do you know who could've taken it?"Thengise asked Calad as he stared at her. Calad turned around and started muttering as if not sane. "No, no . He take it! No," Calad muttered. Thengise stroked his hair until he had calmed down and then told the others what had happened.

Thengise heard his cries and ran to him trying to calm him down. "Shhh, it's ok. I'm sorry i'll try to keep my voice down. It's just that I got frustrated,"she said, her face still red yet her eyes were now a glowing green.

Thengise listened to the harsh words Collette had yelled to her. Spoiled princess, she thought. Her eyes became once more dark green with anger, but held it within her which she often did. She ran into the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror.

She looked at her neatly done hair, her nice travel clothes, and her glowing necklace. Collette is right,she thought to herself as her eyes began to fill with tears.

Collette awoke the next morning and followed her stomach to the kitchen. there was no breakfast. not one lumpy pancake in sight. maybe they were waiting for her to cook. collette began to fry some eggs and butter bread when Kalia came in.....

After crying in the bathroom Thengise had jumped out of the window into a tree. There she had slept. She woke up early in the morning the next day. She sat up in the tree and looked around. She remembered everything that had happened the day before and how she and Collette had gotten into a huge fight. "Spoiled princess, pathetic,"she said to herself under her breath. She wasn't running away but just sat in the tree right outside the bathroom to clear her mind.

Kalia smacked her head and then looked at Collette.
"What happened? Oh, well, no time for that now. We need to find her," she said, walking out of the room. "Tell me you two didn't get into a fight. What we need most right now is for everyone to trust everyone else, and so I'm going to try to patch things up. But you'll need to help," she said as she walked down the hall and into Thengise's room. "Thengise? Thengise, where are you?" she called into the room, walking around.

Collette went back to her room and continued to pack, hoping to leave as soon as possible so the road could clear her mind. By now, everyone must have thought Thengise the victim, since Collette had already started a reputation of startintg things with Calad...whre was he anyway?

Kalia was shocked. Just a while ago, Collette and Thengise had been laughing ang joking with each other. What happened? She smacked herselfin the head. I should never have left. I should've let Sorell deal with Nayru on his own and stayed with Thengise, Collette, and Calad. Now they hate each other, or so it seems. What happened? she asked herself, looking at Collette. She walked out of the room and to Thengise.
"Thengise, what happened yesterday?" she asked.

Thengise looked up at Kalia with sad eyes and said,"It was nothing really, mostly my fault. I was wondering what it was you and Collette were talking about. I asked Collette, but she wouldn't tell me and I got frustrated and angry. I guess I am just a spoiled princess!"

Thengise looked down not trying to show her face which was red with embarrassment and her eyes watered yet she did not cry.

Kalia felt a wave of understanding flood through her. So this was just because of a question. She patted Thengise's back and kneeled down next to her.
"Don't worry, I'll try to straighten things out with Collette, and hopefully she'll become your friend again. But you two'll have to apologize, ok?" she asked, standing up and walking to the door.

Thengise wasn't sure if she could bring herself to apologize yet.

"What were you talking about?"Thengise said before Kalia could leave the room. She knew it wasn't good news but she couldn't wait.

Kalia paused before walking into the room with Collette. She turned back to Thengise.
"I'll tell you in good time, be assured of that," she said. She walked to Collette and sat down beside her. "Hi, Collette. Thengise told me what happened yesterday after I left. Listen, thank you for not telling her what I said. I'm sure that if she was in any way rude, she's sorry for it, because she doesn't have your friendship anymore. I for one would be deeply sorry for upsetting either of you. Could you ever forgive her for whatever she did to upset you?" she pleaded with Collette.

Sorell caught up with Nayru.
"I know that bracelet meant a lot to you. But I- I- we'll find it." Sorell sighed, frowned and pushed back his fringe, which immediatly flopped back. What ever it was that made him so usless at this sort of thing, it worked well.
"I- I guess I kinda know how you feel, like when I lost my parents. And I really feel like I lost them, because I never knew them. So I'm kinda..."
"Rubbish at this," finished Nayru of Sorell's stumbling speech. He didn't usually say this much at all, and never spoke of his feelings, so Nayru knew he was trying to make her feel better.

Kalia sat up and looked at the door. She stood and went to Thengise, leading her into the room.
"Collette, here is someone who has been your friend for longer than I've known either of you and I'm sure had no intention of hurting you, isn't that right, Thengise? And Thengise, Collette had a good reason for not telling you what we were talking about, and I swear that I'll tell you in good time, ok? It has to do with Calad, and since you're so close to him, I didn't think it was a good idea for her to tell you. Now will you two apologize?" she asked, looking at them.

Kalia loks at Collette and clamps her hand on her shoulder.

Thengise said nothing. She just layed against the wall and looked around ignoring the rest. She knew it was childish but she was quite upset.

Kalia groaned and let her head fall onto her lap. Why were they being so stupid?! It was all just because of a stupid question. She sat up and looked at the ceiling. This was too hard. In a moment, she'd have to show her true self, and then they'd hate her forever afterwards. She didn't want to show how mean she could be, but if they forced her... She had almost been driven to yell when she was angry at Calad, but this was just...
"Okay. I'm going to ask it one more time. Say sorry to each other. Now," she menaced, growling softly. "Do you ever want to leave this room? I can have it boarded up and we'll never again see the light of day," she threatened.

"Why should I apologize? I'm spoiled right and this isn't what i want,"Thengise said fingering her necklace.

Thengise winces at the kick but losing her temper she quickly takes out her bow and arrow. As Collette starts running to the other side of the room, Thengise shoots Collette in the back of her leg. Thengise drops her bow after realizing what she has done and drops to the ground.

Kalia roars.
"OKAY, YA KNOW WHAT, LITTLE HOBBIT? I'M SICK AND TIRED OF YOU. YOU AND YOUR STUPID LITTLE SCREW UPS, YOUR LITTLE TEMPERS, NOW I WISH I'D NEVER AGREED TO BRING YOU AT ALL!" she roared, seeming to change into a horrible beast with burning eyes and spewing fire. She grabbed the bow and arrow from Thengise, snapped them in half, and took Collette's dagger. She snapped that in half and threw bioth halves, which were still sharp, at the door and they imbedded themselves deeply in. She pointed at Collette and yelled again. "See? This is what happens when you don't apologize and now your friend, or used to be friend, is hurt. Did you really mean to do that?" she said, turning normal again. She knelt behing Collette, and began easing the arrow out of her leg.

Kalia smacks her head and hugs Collette.
"I'm sorry, I was just mad. Please, I'm sure it'll be fun with you along with me. Now let me see your leg," she said.

* hugs back and tries to lift her leg* i cant move...i wont move! it hurts! it wont! * deleriously looks down and, Collette who is already woozy at the site of Kalia and Clad's blood , swoons when she see a puddle of her own collecting quickly in a puddle on the floor *

Thengise is on the floor crying. She looks at her friends and hears what they are saying to her yet is still in shock.

She looks up and yells,"I'm sorry. I am so sorry!"

Kalia smiles at Thengise.
"Thank you," she said. "Do you accept her apology, Collette?" she asked while examining her leg.

Thengise runs to Collette still crying and hugs her trying not to put any pressure on the leg.

"I am so sorry,"Thengise says now turning to look at her broken bow. "Ahh! Who broke my bow?!!!"

"Umm, I'm sorry, I did. I was mad," she explained. She runs back and puts pressure on Collette's wound, to stop the blood. "Soory if this hurts, but it's necessary."

Kalia hit herself again and shivered. She hadn't wanted to get mad. They had driven her to the breaking point and then she had snapped the bow. She looked up at Thengise.
"I'm sorry for it. I swear, I hadn't intended on breaking it, I was just soooo angry. See, that's what happens..." she broke off, thinking of the last time she had gotten angry before this. It was when she had killed her father.

Thengise sadly looked at her bow and said,"That's ok but now I need to get a knew bow before we continue. We also need to get Collette mended."

"I agree," Kalia said, still thinking about what she had done. SHe decided that she's give up her own bow, which was crafted by her mother. She picked Collette up and carried her out of the room and to the medical wing of the building.

Thengise went into the other room to find Calad having broken almost all the things in that room. She grabbed him by the hand and quickly took him to the hospital wing with the others. "Umm he kinda messed up his room."Thengise said stroking his hair as to not upset him.

"Oh well," Kalia said, sighing. So many things were going wrong. They'd just have to supply him with a new room. She laid Collette on a bed and waited for a doctor to come. After a few moments, one appeared.
"Hello, what's wrong?" he asked, looking at Collette.
"My friend was accidentally shot," she replied, indicating the spot on the back of Collette's leg.
"Want us to take it out?" he yet again asked, examining the wound.
She looked at Collette. "Well? Want them to take it out?" she asked.

"What happened?" Nayru points at Collette's leg.

"Oh, there was a big fight and Collette acidently got shot. Everything is resolved now though."

"Oh, that's good." Sorell looks at the bleeding hobbit leg and winces and turns around to face the hallway.

Kalia groans and grabs the cup. She whispers to Thngise and the doctor, who then pin her arms down and hold her mouth open. She comes to the open mouth and pours the liquid in.
"Sorry, Collette, but this is to prevent further injury," she said as the last of the liquid falls into her mouth.

Thengise struggles as she holds down Collette's arms, which were trying to get loose. She lets go once the medicine was given to Collette. "There! Now you will begin to feel less pain in no time!"Thengise said to Collette. She looked down at the blood and winced,"Ewww! I guess I got carried away. At least now I hope you know better than to **** me off when i'm carrying my bow,"Thengise said frowning.

"No, we didn't. As soon as you were asleep, I sent someone to go watch him," she said. "Yes, we should beheading to Rivendell. We'll leave tomorrow, when your leg is a bit better."

Kalia barely conceals a burst of laughter and runs out of the room, where she does explode laughing. Having regained her composure a few moments later, she walked back into the room.
"Well then, anyone hungry? I can go get some food," she offered, staying near the door.

"I would like that very much,"Thengise said with a smile knowing why it was Kalia had left the room.

Sorell grinned and ran to help Kalia, with a warm feeling inside him. Nayru really must like him...didn't you only hug people you liked? Sorell decided that Nayru must be missing something...he wasn't sure what though. But he decided that he would be her substitute brother...for now anyway. Sorell let his grin dominate his slim face, his silver eyes shining with hapiness.

Kalia looked at Sorell and smiled. He was smiling, so why shouldn't she? She stopped and waited for him, explaining that she was going to get the others some food. As they were walking towards the kitchen, she looked at Sorell.
"Why so happy? Did you find Nayru's bracelet?" she asked, grinning inside.

Sorell stopped smiling. "No. I don't know who has taken it, but I'm guessing that it's the same person as left those notes...so it couldn't have been Calad. As far as I know, he can't write, and his handwriting would not be as clear as this."

[The Fifth]

Calad sat in a different room, far from the others. He huddled in the corner, staring at the window and the shards of golden light that poured through. He wanted the room to be dark like his mind, but he was unaware that he was slowly getting closer to the light... getting closer to regaining sanity, remembering his name, age, friends, memories of good times instead of just the torturous, black memories of the orcs.. and the Ringwraith that had joined in on the cruelty, laughing thinly as he waved a sword in front of the elf's face.

He closed his eyes for a moment, then reopened them. He supposed that the others were too busy fighting still. They act like uruks... filthy creatures..., he thought. Unlike his normal speech, the mad jabbering that his companions heard, his thoughts were in complete, sane sentences. He looked at the window, then growled softly. He slowly stood erect and allowed the sun to shine on his fair face, framed with sable locks of hair. He stood for a while, gazing at the window.

Yes, I shall get away from these filthy uruks.. like all of the rest of them.... dirty and sneering, alway fighting.. he thought, but... that other elf... she is nice sometimes... His thoughts began to change a bit, then reverted quickly back. No! They are all demons inside! They let out their demons! Curse them and may they die! He lept onto the platform just in front of the window, then looked for an opening on it. There was none. He drew back his arm and punched out the glass, shattering it with a sound that the others would surely detect. He then looked down at the scenery. It was very high up. He hesitated, for he feared heights at times.

Thengise heard the crash and ran to the room in which Calad stood before the window. She looked at him and knew what he was attempting to do.

"No. Please do not leave. I am sorry for all of the noise but I promise we won't hurt you. Here I have an apple for you,"Thengise said softly taking an apple out of her cloak, which Kalia had given to her. She looked worriedly over at Calad wondering what he was going to do next.
