Kalia's cloak billowed out as she strode out of Faramir's dwelling and into the large early morning breeze. It smelled strongly of her home, Ithilien. Ah, beautiful Ithilen. But there was no time for daydreaming now. There was a job to be done. Kalia played back the conversation she had just had with Faramir in her head, to better analyze what she was about to do.

Faramir: Kalia, I need you to perform a very important task for me. Can I trust you to do this?
Kalia: Of course, my liege. What is it that you wish?
Faramir: I need you to escort a crazed elf to Rivendell. See if he can be cured. Take along four others that you wish to accompany you and to help keep track of him. Are you capable of this?
Kalia: Of course. I'll attend to the matter right away. Good bye.

And that was when she stepped out. Good for nothing human. Just becuse I'm part fairy doesn't mean I'm incapable of taking care of important matters, she thought to herself. She strolled down the stairs and into the alreay bustling market. She narrowly dodged a run away vegetable cart while she was looking for suitable allies and supplies. The first person that came to her mind was someone she didn't quite know, but seemed good for the job. His name was Sorell Maundy. She didn't exactly know him, but she had seen him around. The next person that came into her mind was another person she wasn't too familiar with, Nayruiel. And then there was Thengise Greenleaf, too. All seemed to be trustworthy people, so she set off to find them. The first person she came across wasn't who she had expected at all. It was...

Thengise had ran away from her palace in Mirkwood again searching for adventure. She was walking along when she ran into Kalia.

"Ah, one of the people I was looking for. How would you like to see part of Middle Earth? I'm looking for four good people to accompany me on my quest. I need to take our resident pyscho elf to Rivendell. I thought that I could trust you, so would you like to come?" Kalia asked, grinning at her fortune of finding one person so easily.

Thengise thought about it about, but then how could she refuse freedom!"I'd be glad to join u! First i will have to seek my father's approval if u could help me to make
him agree," Thengise softly said yet their was much excitement held with in her. Then she realized that she had to travel with a pysycotic elf. "Is this elf very dangerous?" Thengise questioned.

"Yes, very dangerous, but we'll have him bound up so tightly that he won't even be able to wiggle his little finger. Come, let's go see your father about this arrangement," Vylia cheerily replied.

Thengise was riding her young white horse, Arien, who glowed like sunshine which was what her name meant. As they drew nearer to her home in Mirkwood she became worried, because asking her father if she could go on this journey would mean having to explain how she happened to be so far from home. She still had hope though because her father would not want a psyco elf running around and would want the poor elf to be healed as soon as possible.

Kalia turned to Thengise.
"So, what brings you to Ithilien? I've lived there about five years. Who are your parents? Maybe it'll be easier for us to convince them if I know a little more about them."

[Thengise Greenleaf of Mirkwood]

"Well my father is Legolas Greenleaf, the prince of Mirkwood, and my mother is his wife Menelenduiel," Thengise replied. "The truth is i kind of ran away for just a little so that i could get fresh air and find adventure" Thengise said in an uneasy voice.

"Wow. Okay, it might take a little more of my persuasive powers that I thought to sway them," Kalia said, an evilish smirk on her face. "Okay, what are some of their weaknesses? I mean like, when you lived with them, what got them to do what you asked?"

"Well i just ran away 3 days ago but i was planning to go back today. Well it will be hard to convince them especially since they probably have a search party looking for me," Thengise sighed. "Well it depends who asigned you this mission. If it is someone important then he will probably let me go, but some of his warriors might have to accompany us if u don't mind," Thengise answered.

"Oooohhhh," Kalia said, a look of understanding on her face. "Well, I think he's pretty important, though pretty incompetant. It's Faramir."

"Ah, well Faramir and my father are pretty good friends. He will probably let me go, but with some warriors" Thengise replied. They were soon at the gates of her home in the woodland realm of Mirkwood. She looked up and sighed. The gates opened before them and many elves rushed toward them.

"Ah, that should help a lot. I'm going to stretch the truth a bit, ok?" Kalia asked just as they were swarmed with elves.

"That's fine with me," Thengise whispered as an elf approached her. "My lady your father has been very worried and is waiting for you this very moment," the elf said trying to regain his strength."Oh well he shouldn't be worried for i am capable of taking care of myself," Thengise snapped. The elf escorted Thengise and Kalia to the palace upon the trees, where Legolas ran towards them and embraced his daughter. Once he released her, his anger began to show. "Where have you been?" he asked in a demanding voice. Before Thengise answered he looked over at Kalia and asked,"Are you the one responsible for bringing her back to safety?"

"I don't know about safety, but I asked her if she wanted to help me with a favor for someone and she said we'd have to ask you, lord. Oh, my name is Kalia, pleased to make your aquaintance," Kalia said, winking at Thengise.

Kalia grinned at the silly hobbit's antics. Turning back to Legolas, she said, "I asked her to come with me on a favor from Faramir of Ithilien. I was assigned the task of escorting a sick elf to Rivendell. He sid that I may take four others along with me and a large guard to protect us. So can she ome?" she asked, putting on her sweetest yet most ridiculous face.

"Sorry about that Kalia. This is My hobbit friend Collette. Her uncle is Pippin Took and so we have grown up together," Thengise said as she sighed for Collette too was clumsy like her uncle.
"Well if it's for Faramir i suppose she can go, but a group of my soldiers must accompany you at all times," Legolas said with a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
Thengise turned to Kalia with a smile on her face and asked,"Would it be alright if Collette came along as well?"

"Sure, she can come. Well, I'm sorry, sir, but Faramir wishes to attract the smallest amount of attention to us, so as to lower the risk of the elf escaping. So is it all right if we take only about three or four of your guard with us? Instead of a whole battalion?" Kalia asked, making Bambi eyes.

"Well, I suppose that will be fine as long as you promise to bring back my daughter safely,"Legolas answered in an uneasy voice

"Oh thank you father! You do not know how much i appreciate this!" Thengise said with much appreciation.

"As long as you take Collette with you and out of my sight!" Legolas said becoming frustrated.

"Hehehe, you really are insane, aren't you?" Kalia asked Colette. "By the way, my name is Kalia, in case you didn't hear me before. Who are you?"

"Welcome aboard, Colette. Well, Sir Legolas, if that's it we'll be leaving back to Ithilien now. We need to round up the rest of our little group," Kalia said, smiling. She bowed to Legolas and they stepped out the door. "Oh wait. Colette, do you have a horse or anything you need to pack?"

"Well I don't know about Collette but i need to get packed,"Thengise replied. As soon as she said that an elf came with her bag and check list. "Here's your bag my lady,"the elf said as he handed her the bag. "Thank you,"Thengise sighed.

all i own is right here on my back. im afraid i dont have a horse i too small to ride one! but if thengise's KIND father would dre to lend me a pony , id say our day is made " if i did so something might end up dead" said legolas. oh your so nice and htoughtful legoas! but you dont need to worry about my safety! "Good thinking Collette, we should all have a great meal then depart,"Thengise replied.

Soon they were at the dinner table eating a grand meal and getting to know Kalia better.

soooo....Kalia. what part of middle earth are you from? * loses her already short attention span and doesnt hear the answer * mmm. wow thats great. " how is pippin?" asked legolas . Oh he great. he ha alot on his plate now though * loading her own plate with everything in reach, even if she didnt know what it was* His wife just gve him a baby son he named Faramir. When the midwife told him it was a boy, he fainted rightt here at the table. * legolas laughed, just then collette knocks over her wine and it spills across the table* Oh clumbsy me! so sorry! * accidentally elbows over a candle, that did not go well with wine and soon had the entire table linen in flames* OOPS! "oops? OOPS?thats it! i didnt want you to eat her AND IF I HAD HAD MY WAY YOU WOULD BE WAITING OUTSIDE RIGH NOW!!! GET OUT! OUT! OUT! YOU ARE BANISHED FORM MY COURT UNTIL YOU ARENO LONGER THE NEICE OF THAT FOOL, PIPPIN!" roared legolas .

"I think we should go now,"Thengise said as the servants threw the linen into a bucket of water.

"Sweety, please come here,"Legolas summoned Thengise. Thengise followed her father into a different room. "Sweety, are you sure it is safe taking Collette with you? I feel you will not be safe with her around,"Legolas said. Thengise smiled and replied,"Oh daddy u shouldn't worry so much. We will keep close watch on Collette at all times."

Legolas looked solemnly at her daughter. Then he took her into his arms and stroked her hair. "I will miss u dearly. There will not be a day when i can sleep well with out knowing that you are here."

"I shall miss u as well,but please don't lose sleep because of me," Thengise replied as she felt a tear fall on her head. She looked up at her father and saw that he was crying. "There will never be a moment when i am not thinking of you," Thengise said softly.

Collette entered the room and Legolas released his daughter and wiped his tears.

Thengise said her last farewells and was soon outside. She hopped on her horse and waited for Collette to get on her horse since she was having difficulties even getting on the pony. She turned around towards her father and gave him a last smile.

Kalia sat quietly to the side as she thought about what had happened so far that day. She smiled as she thought of Colette burning the dining table, smiling. She saw Thengise walk off into a room with her father. She smiled and silently wished that she still had parents that cared about her. As she came out of her thoughts, she realized that there were tears in her eyes. She quickly brushed them away, not wanting anyone to see them. Looking around, she saw inside the room with Legolas and Thengise and saw them embracing. She turned away, not wanting to intrude, eavesdrop, or desroy anything for them. Suddenly, an elf came up to her.
"Excuse me, ma'am. Would you like a room for the night?"
"Sure, it seems like we're going to be leaving tomorrow anyways," she said, standing up. He led her down a few hallways and into a beautiful green room. There was a black bed and lots of green. She shrugged and changed into a nightgown set on her bed. She called the elf back to her and told him to tell Thenigse and Colette that they would be staying the night here. he looked fearful at the mention of Colette but went anyways. She went over to the bed and fell asleep, almost immediately, tired from earlier.

whahooooo! * runs into the smaller of the three rooms* elf stuff cool! * thengise can hear her jumping on the comfy mattress, hiperly* the is the best room ive ever stayed in i thin wow! whats this? * thengise and kalia start to laugh quietly when they hear a crash! and legolas' roaring voice soon after.* " collette! that is A FAMILY HEIRLOOM! I CAN SWEAR I CAN FORSEE MY DEATH IN YOU EYES! YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS? A HEART ATTACK! A HEART ATTACK COLLETTE! GO TO SLEEEEEEEP!"

Kalia silently chuckled to herself as Legolas yelled at Colette.
"This oughta be one interesting journey," she said quietly to herself. She yawned and fell asleep, only to be woken up once more by another crash from Colette's room. Yet again she went back to sleep. A few hours later, though, she was woken up again. But not by Colette.

Thengise lay in her bed and smiled as she heard her father's booming voice. She got up and went over to Kalia's room since she wasn't tired.

"Sorry, i hope i didn't wake you,"Thengise said as she sat on a chair by Kalia's bed. "It's ok, i was already awake thanks to Collette,"Kalia replied.

"Ya, Collette and I have grown up together. She was like that ever since I can remember. I remember my father would always have headaches," Thengise said and gave a small laugh at the thought.

"Heh, she's a psycho, isn't she? She's funny. Reminds me of one of my friends. He left when I was young, though. Never found out what happened to him... Anyways, back on a happier subject. How did you and Colette meet?" Kalia asked, sitting up and stretching.

"Heh. Since you've already heard most of our conversation, c'mon in," Kalia invited, wondering what was in her hand. "So, now what?"

"Aww in that case i know who gave it to you. It's her boyfriend Merry. The real way we met was because of our fathers. Legolas and Pippin kept in touch and since he is her uncle, i met her when i was a small child,"Thengise said with a smile on her face.

"That's cool. Have you two been best friends ever since?" Kalia asked Thengise. "And how come you're here, instead of with Merry? These sound like interesting people. I'd like to meet them someday."

"Collette is here instead of with Merry beacause she came for a visit but then i ran away for awhile and i knew that if i took her we wouldn't have been able to get passed the front doors,"Thengise said and laughed as she saw the angry look on Collette's face.

Outside the palace, there was an elf standing by the gates. He gave off a slight glow. In actual fact, it was not an elf. It was a faery. He had elf blood, and looked like an elf, but the light showed clearly his status as a faery. He was from Mirkwood, and had followed his good friend Kalia from Farimir's dwelling. She had not seen him, because he had let loose his pointed wings and flown. His name was Sorell Maundy.
Sorell turned his silver eyes towards the palace and flicked back his long red hair. When would she be coming out? Maybe she had a room for the night. In which case, it made sense for him to rest. He would wake up when she came out. He would. Sorell decided to do a quick spell to make sure. He gabbled a few words, then unfurled his wings from under his cape and flew up into the nearest tree. There he sat in a fork and went to sleep.

Nayruiel, a faerie, sat beneth a tree outside of the palace. Her silver hair and turquoise and pale purple wings were hidden in the tree's shadow. She heard snoring above her head. There she saw her friend Sorell. She flew up to him.

"Sorell! Wake up! It's me Nayru! Wake up!" She shook him and he jumped up.

"Hum? Wha? Nayru? What are you doing here?"

"I followed you."

"WHAT! Your too young to be out her by yourself! I came to see Kalia. BY MYSE-" He was inturupted as they heard people talking and coming out of the palace.

Nayru pulled her Sindar cloak over her wings and her bright silver hair. Her silver eyes glowed beneth the shadow of the cloak. The group aproached the tree Sorell and Nayru sat in.

Two elven gaurds had heard whispering and grabbed a lantern and lifted it to the tree. There they saw two figures in the branches.

"Who are you and what is your business here,"one of the guards asked.

Kalia ran to her window as she heard guards yelling. As she looked out, she saw a flash of silver as Sorrell's eyes looked towards her room. She opened the window and beckoned him inside, taking Nayruiel with him.

[Halbereth Diagona]

"We are friends of a dweller in the palace. Our business is our own." Sorell cried down to the guards. He saw Kalia at the window, and tugged Nayru's arm to show her. But she was more focused on the way the guards had the tree surrounded and were all pointing their swords directly at them.
"Get down here you winged freaks!" one yelled.

Kalia turned to the guards.
"You! Leave them alone! They are my friends! Wherever I am, they are welcome to be with me! Now go back to your posts and do your jobs!" she yelled at them. "Come here, into my room," she told the two fairies. She turned back around and found Thengise and Colette staring at the two newcomers. "Oh, yes. Thengise, Collete, meet Sorell and Nayruiel. They're two of my friends. Nayruiel, Sorell, Thengise, and her friend, Collete," Kalia said, introducing them. She saw Thengise and Collette staring at their wings. "Ummm, yeah. They're fairies. And... so am I." She made her black wings appear and averted her eyes.

Thengise was awakened by Kalia's shout. She ran into Kalia's room and asked,"Are you alright?" Kalia told her about her friends who were outside surrounded by the guards.

Thengise ran outside in her light blue nightgown. "Stop,"she yelled. The gaurds looked at her in surprise. Then a gaurd said,"Princess it is not safe, go back inside."

"These are Kalia's friends. They are to accompany us on the mission. They are fairies but will do us no harm. Now let them come down!"Thengise ordered.

The guards moved away from the tree and then Sorell and Nayru softly jumped down. "Sorry about all of this. I am Thengise Greenleaf princess of Mirkwood and I shall be accompanying you on this quest. Come, you shall be escorted to your rooms for the night,"Thengise softly said.

They were each escorted to their rooms after recieving many pardons.

Sorell smiled and nodded. Inside he was slightly hurt, though he did not show it. Hurt at being called a winged freak....for all their boasting, elves would still mock those whom they did not understand. Sorell did not show it though; he was never any good at showing his feelings. He entered the room that Thengise and Kalia showed him to, and sat down by the dressing table, began to wasth the tree dust from his slim face; he had not had a proper meal in ages. He noticed a tray of buns and hot tea on a nearby table, so buttered a bun, poured a cup of tea and took a sip. Almost immediatly the room started to spin. Finally, all went black and he fell back in his chair, with his wngs folded under him. A star shape on his forehead began to shine, weakly at first, then getting brighter, until a dazziling beam of starshaped light had errupted from his tanned forehead. The light stayed for around 5 minutes before it began to fade.

Kalia saw a bright light coming from uder Sorell's door and wondered. What's that? she asked herself, opening the door and seeing Sorell glowing. She stood back in amazement as the light faded and Sorell was normal again.
"Hey Sorell, what was that? In all the time Ive known you, you've never done that before."

Sorell put a hand to his forehead and got up. He was slightly dazed, so he staggered and fell right at the door, cracking his head on the doorframe. Kalia helped him up. He beckoned her inside and explained.

Kalia assisted him to his bed.
"Here, rest. There's a big trip tomorrow, and if you're coming, you'll need some rest." She yawned a small yawn. "And so will I. Good night," she softly said, closing the door and walking back to her room.

Sorell could not sleep. He tossed and turned, but he could not find a comfortable position. He got out of bed and went to the window. The moon was shining bright and as silver as his eyes. He slid open the window and jumped out, unfurling his wings as he went. Then he flew off into the night. When he came back he went straight to sleep.

When Kalia reached her room, she could not sleep either. She kept turning the day's events in her mind, keeping awake. Everything became such a blur, she had no idea whether she had fallen asleep or not. Finally, she couldn't take it. She had wanted to do this for a year, but hadn't for fear of being caught. She got out of bed and opened her window too. She jumped out, but didn't unfurl her wings immediately. Instead, she waited until she was a foot off the ground and swooped gracefully high into the air. She flew off, looking around. For what, she had no idea. After two hours of searching, she swept back into her room, where everything went black. The next morning, she woke up in her bed. Everything was exactly like how it had been before. Except for one thing; her wings were out. She looked at the puzzledly and made them disappear. She got up and changed back into her clothes from before. As she strode out of the bathroom, there was a knock at ther door.

An elf maid was standing in the hall when Kalia opened the door. "Sorry miss, but her highness,Thengise, is waiting for you in the dining hall. Breakfast is ready and the rest of your friends are already there,"said the elf maid.

Kalia was escorted to the dining hall where Legolas,Thengise,Collette,Sorell, and Naryu were already seated."Good morning Kalia. Glad you could join us,"said Legolas.

Legolas turned to to all three of the fairies and said,"I'm dearly sorry for what happened last night. My guards were startled to see fairies for they have not yet known of any. I beg your pardon for what my guards said to you. I know that fairies are good beings for I have met some in my youth."

"I'm sorry for being late. Mae govonen, everyone!" Kalia said as she sat down at an empty seat between Thengise and Sorell. "So, what's for breakfast?"

"Anything that's set on the table. So how did you all sleep. I hope you slept well,"Thengise said as she put a couple of items on her plate.

"I know, but I didn't want to embarrass you," Thengise said with a small smile on her face."Collette caused some destruction here and there in the Shire, so she has been banned for sometime. Ever since then she has lived in the palace with us being that she is almost family. My father and her don't get along so well as you have seen,"Thengise finished as she giggled at the thought.

Nayru stuffs some food in her mouth and looks at Collete. "Is that a hobbit?" She asked Kalia.

"Oh, Yes! She is one of Thengise's and my best friends!"

"Oh, My father had friends that were hobbits. Before he and my mom died, I mean." nayru lowered her head and Sorell grabbed her hand under the table.

"I hope this doesn't bother you, Nayru, but how did your parents die?"

"*sigh* My Father recieved a necklace in trade with an Istari, but we found out it was stolen. Dwarves came and killed my parents and tried to get the necklace, but I ran of with it." She pulled a necklace out from underneath her black gown's neckline.

"I'm sorry about your parents. Mine are dead too, but not killed. I- I killed my father... For trying to hurt my mother. My mother died of natural causes. So in one way, we're alike... Today, we must go back to Ithilien and get our lost little friend. That is where our journey begins. Are you all sure you want to come?" she asked, looking around at everyone.

"Yeah, but she's gone. No use brooding over the past for me. All right then, if everyone's ready, let's go!" Kalia said, standing. She tidied up her mess and then strolled to her room to get her pack. When she got to her room, there was a note on the door.
Leave the psycho alone or else it said. She tore it up and walked into her room. She picked up her pack and casually walked outside, to where the others where waiting.
"Well, let's be off," she said some what darkly, still pondering over the note.

Thengise went to her room as well. She grabbed her things and went to her mother's room. She sat on her mother's sitting chair and began to cry. It had been a year since her mother was killed by some orcs who attacked the woodland realm. She had not mentioned this to the others and hid her sadness. She wiped off her tears and said her last farewell to her father.

At last she was outside with the others.

Kalia looked behind her and smiled. Thengise was leading Colette by holding a cookie just beyond her reach, and she saw the anger bubbling in the small hobbit. She looked forward and ralized that she too was hungry.
"What do you guys think, should we stop for dinner?" she asked, turning her horse around.

Kalia smiled at Colette as she lead her horse over to a grassy meadow where it could graze, motionng for the others to do likewise. After the horses were grazing, there was a merry fire crackling, and they had all eaten Colette's delicious meal, Kalia brought up the subject of watches.
"Okay, just to be safe, we should put up watches, just in case. I'll go first, who'll go next?"

Kalia put on a look of obviously fake disgust.
"Why I never! Actually, I was once engaged. But I found out that I didn't really like the guy, because I saw his true cruel side. So I broke it off," she explained. She shuddered, thinking of him. "He got so mad, he tried to perform a spell on me, but it backfired. Now he's a long silver snake with red eyes like rubies. Just after, when he saw what had happened, he pledged to kill me. That's when I took off. I wonder where he is now. If ever you see a large silver snake, keep far far away, for it could be him. Now, I'm probably scaring you like this, so go to bed. I'll wake you up in a few hours, Thengise. I usually don't sleep. Always on the lookout. So get what reest you can and we'll leave in the morning," she solemnly ended, standing and sitting on a rock at the border of their camp.

Kalia listened with all her might as she heard Thengise clamber into the tree, the horses moving closer together, Colette snuggling down in her sleeping bag, and a faint rustle in the grass. A faint rustle in the grass?! She drew her sword, ready for anything. But then she realized that it could've been just a slight breeze. She sat back down. Everything was so peaceful and beauiful during the night. It made her want to fly. She began to think about the previous night to try to remember what had happened. She whad been lying there, thinking, and then the world was small below her. She snapped to attention as a twig behind her snapped. She jumped up, drawing her sword again, and turned to face the unknown thing.

"No, it's alright,I shall tell you. My mother was a very noble elf. She was always smiling and getting me through the day. It seemed that every time she walked into a room it would light up with her presence. My father loved her dearly, which is why he always seems upset. She died about a year ago. Some orcs attacked the woodland realm as she was walking around. The orcs killed her, but my father and I had decided to stay in the palace. I regret having stayed, maybe then i could of put up a fight or ended the misery i am going through. Ever since then I often run away and loose much sleep,"Thengise said with tears rolling down her face.

"Don't blame yourself for killing your father. It was he who killed himself by doing what he did to your mother,"Thengise said still sobbing.

All of a sudden Collette started yelling. Thengise shook Collette and woke her from her nightmare.

"I can't help but do so. I don't know why, but I worry too much, though some times I don't pay attention to my worries. Since you're my friends, I couldn't help but worry an unusually large amount," Kalia said, coming out of the trees. She had something in her hands behind her back. "Go to bed. I'll watch the whole night. I don't desere any rest. I'm not taking no for an answer, now go!" she commanded, totally against her nature. She stalked off towards the rock where she had been previously sitting. Why had she gotten so worked up? These were her friends, not her father. She grimaced at the thought of him. Oooh, how she hated her father. Such a cruel, undeserving... There was no word to describe the monster he was. She sat just sat there, brooding the whole night.

"Good morning, everyone!" Kalia called as she saw them up and about. She was still thinking about the previous night and her father, so she didn't say very much during breakfast. As soon as she finished, she stood up.
"You guys can leave if you want. I'll catch up later. I'm going to, um, do something." She walked into the forest again, but did not come out this time. There was a rustling near the top of the trees and a whole flock of little birds were scared out of their nests and a larger figure popped out of their midst. It was Kalia, her black wings glinting in the sunlight.

Kalia felt the wind on her face and smiled through her troubles. Ah, it felt so good to fly again. She looked down and saw her friends below her. She loooked back up and swooped under a flock of crows. She closed her eyes, adrenaline coursing through her veins. When she opened her eyes, she looked down and saw arrows pointed up at her. She realized with horror that these people must not know about fairies, and since the whole field was covered with them, it was too late to get away. The arrows flew up at her.

Kalia dodged the arrows as best she could. She swooped back around and landed in a heap in the forest from which she took off. She sat up and grimaced; one of the arrows had cut her arm. She bound it up as best she could and straightened out her clothes, walking out of the forest.
"Well, that's one thing I know I'll never do again," she told herself as he jumped onto her horse and slamming her leg into her horse's side. An excruciating pain came from there too, one had gotten her leg. She then bound that up and, feeling a bit woozy, rode oout to the others.
"Well, uhn, let's go," she said, managing a smile.

Collette woozed almost as much as Kalia did at the sight of the blood coursing down her leg, but restained herslef and thought hard about what she could do to be of use.then it dawned on her " I CAN HELP!" and began to rummage through her pack and retrieved a think packet of Hobbiton-made Gauze- cloth. " I almost forgot i had this! here..you need it" indicating the cloth she had used had already been soaked with her blood , adn recalling the memories of how she had nicked all of the medical supplies from the Physicain in Hobbiton with her best friends Pippin and Merry Gamgge, the namesakes of the fellowship ( they are real characters check the appendixes of the LOTR book )

Sorell rode behind the talkative girls on his chesnut horse, Jerain. He had not been to sleep at all that night. He had wandered the moors, flying here and there, practising defence magic. He had listened in on Kalia and Thengise's conversation, and watched Collette in her nightmare. He had peched at the top of a tree and saw the shooting star; wished that he knew his parents. Oh yes, Kalia and Thengise's mothers were dead, and Kalia's father, they had sob stories to tell, but at least they had known what it was like to be held by their mother, to have their parents tuck them in at night, to feel that sense of security. Sorell had only been a baby when his parents died and left him alone in the world. He had been taken in by another family, but they were nothing like parents. Now, as he rode upon Jerain, he wished more than anything that he had at least known his parents. For it was better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.
Sorell shifted on the horse's back; he ached to be flying. Well...they would hardly miss him...they seemed to have forgotten he was there. Well, he was pretty quiet. He gave the side of his horse a quick kick with his boot, and enormous chesnut wings spread out from either side. He took of, with a gasp of delight, and flew above the company, enjoying the wind on his face and the feeling of being as high as the trees.

Kalia stared with wonder at Sorell as he soared up on his flying horse.
"Cool, Sorell, how did you do that?" she called up to him. She tried waving, but she needed her good arm to hold onto the horse and her injured arm was dead limp. Hmmm, this might just be a bit of a problem, she said, looking down at her arm. She looked back up and saw Sorell swooping gracefully over their heads, as she had done a little earlier. As the came over a rise in the path, the city of Ithilien was visible to all.
"Everybody, this is our destination and that is where we shall obtain our crazed friend," she called, motioning her head in that direction.

Sorell glumly flew to the ground and rejoined the group.

Sorell shrugged, and, leaving his horse to follow the rest, rose slowly into the air, his wings curling out from under his cape.

"Yah know what? I think I'll join you, Sorell," Kalia called. She stood on her horse and jumped. Yet again, before she hit the ground, she swooped. She flew up to Sorell.
"Hi!" she said, rather cheerfully. She began swooping above the others, like a vulture, and then swooped down. As she flew back up, a flower appeared in Thengise's hair.

Sorell raced with Kalia for a while, then flew to his favourite perch at the topmost bit of a tree. He picked a flower and pulled off the petals one by one, tossing them into the wind. He laughed. He was an elemental faery, free as the wind, wild and impulsive. The fresh breeze blew back his long red hair, and his silver eyes flashed. Up in the trees he looked at home, in his element, rosy-cheeked, tanned and almost regal. He thought no-one had ever seen him looking like this, and never would, but he was wrong.

Kalia looked over as Sorell was sitting in the tree. He looked so happy and free. She smiled to herself and flew to a different tree. Let him have a good time. He deserves it. As do I, Kalia thought as she sat on the lower branches. She looked around and saw that she was surrounded by apples. An evil grin appeared on her face. She picked the apples and flew back to her friends. She swooped a lot, dropping in apple on each of their laps. Then she flew back up to Sorell and dropped on in his hands. She then flew back to her tree and bit into the juicy fruit, spraying juice over her hand. Unknowingly, they were watched by a pair of gleaming red eyes. They blinked and disappeared.

Sorell realised that Kalia had dropped the apple. He smiled over at her by way off thanks, then bit into another of nature's bounties. The apple was firm, juicy. When he had finished, he resumed his regal position. Sorell wished that he were handsome, didn't everybody? But he also knew that if he were not handsome, he was striking and unusual. And that was enough for him.

Kalia sat in the tree, her legs swinging from the branch and her hair blowing back in the small breeze. She felt so free here, unrestrained by any person's law, fairy, man, or any else. She swooped to the ground, dug a small hole, and planted the apple inside. She covered it up and thought about what she had just done. It would grow to be another apple tree, and share its bounty with hungry travelers such as they. She flew back up, above all the trees, and looked around. Ithilien was still a distance away. That was good, for she needed to stretch her wings a bit more. Get in a year's worth of flying in one day. So she flew around more, swooping and circling, and finally coming to land on the same branch as before, in the same pose.

Nayru told her horse Zaberin to follow the rest, and she flew up to Kalia and Sorell.

"Sorell, I haven't seen you fly for many the years we have been close friends! It almost brings tears to her eyes.

"Yes, i haven't flow for a while. I'm not like you, out every day, flying around, trying to get myself killed." He playfully shoved her, and she shoved back. He continued, "You are so young, so free."

"I'm not so young. Actually.... i don't know how old I am."

The three saw Ithilien and flew around for a few more minutes, and then went to their horses, Sorell riding by Nayru.

Collette was completely awed as seh watched the three traveling fairies fly about, something that a hobbit could boast of seeing. For fleeting minutes, seh wished she was a fairy so she could fly when seh wanted to, They seemed so free.
Instead she was held to they ground, upon the back of a stubborn pony, with a pack upon her back as heavy as herself, next to her best frined and found it was enough for now. They were approaching their destiny where there would be sleep and food.

Thengise also looked up at the fairies in wonder. Oh how wonderful it would be to be able to soar in the sky, she thought. She looked over at Collette and saw that she too was looking up in amazement.

"Don't worry, we'll find a way to get you back in the Shire,"Thengise said to Collette. She looked at her friend and smiled. She was glad that she wasn't the only one on the ground.

Thengise did not want to her friend to wander alone. "Do not listen to my father, it's not you he's always mad at he's just very depressed and lost. Sometimes he scares me yet sometimes I scare him. Things aren't all right in my house and I need you to be their for us. Please stay with us,"Thengise pleaded as her eyes began to water, but she wasn't about to cry.

Thengise understood her friend yet was still filled with sadness, which she tried not to show. She didn't often like to show her emotions. "Well Then I will miss u terribly," she said looking at the fairies as they flew up above and trying to avoid her friends eyes for she did not want to show her sadness.

"Please visit often and I hope you know that inside, my father really actually loves u like a niece,"Thengise said.

Kalia looked around and saw that they were nearing Ithilien. She landed on her horse and stood up straight. At last, they were back at Ithilien. She looked up at the sky, and seeing how dark it was, she motioned for the others to stop.
"Let's stop here for the night, and we can continue in the morning," she called to the others. She found yet another place for the horses to graze and led all of them there. She then stepped into the woods to search for a suitable campsite. After about five minutes, she found it. It was surrounded by trees except for one side, where they could watch the horses. She led the others to it and began to make a fire. In another few minutes, they had a merry fire burning and Collette was making dinner again. Kalia sat of to the side, rather closer to the trees than the others. She watched the flames dance and zoned out, just staring at them. Her usually sharp senses didn't sense the person next to her, though.

Collette giggled quietly at how hard thengise was trying to hide her dissapointment adn wasnt doing a very good job. But she had it firmly planted it in her mnd that thengise and legolas really did need time to grow back together as more than just father-daughter , but as a family. it would be best for them if she stayed out of the way even though she didnt want to leave her friend behind. ' you think so? i dunno thengise- he has always despised my living there.

Thengise was standing behind Kalia and saidto Collette'"Believe me he does." Her words startled Kalia for she didn't realize she had been standing behind her.

"So how does it feel to fly?"Thengise asked Kalia trying to change the subject to cheer herself up a bit.

"It's an ok feeling. You feel like there's no boundaries to what you can do, and there really isn't. Except for being able to watch yourself fly. And to be able to teleport, but that's a totally different matter," Kalia said, making room for Thengise. "maybe some day, I'll take you with me. But right now, I need to make my arm and leg heal and to get stronger, so that I would be able to carry you. Or, you could jump off a tree and pretend you're flying, until you hit the ground. But I don't suggest that. It's like you've been turned into a bird and you can see everything. The wind in your face, the cold blasts breezes that feel so good, it's fun," Kalia said, thinking of earlier. "Would you like me to bring you into the air with me sometime?"

"Yes, I would greatly like that and don't worry i'm not about to go jumping off of any tree,"Thengise replied with a soft giggle.

I feel most free when I am up in a tree, but I guess that coulsn't be compared with flying,"she said still giggling.

"I'm sure I wouldn't see you ever jumping out of a tree, Thengise. Yes, Collette, calm down! When my arm is healed and I'm a bit stronger, I'll take both of you into the air with me. Now, we should be a little quieter, in case Sorell and Nayru want to sleep. Oh! We need to draw watches! I'll go first again. Either of you want to have the second watch?" Kalia called to her other fairy friends.

"Okay, then, Collette. Third watch, anyone?" Kalia asked. That watch went to Sorell, and the fourth, Thengise, and the fifth and last, Nayru. How lucky. Nayru got to sleep the most. "Okay then. Go to bed, and I'll wake you up in two hours," Kalia said, making the fire burn lower until it was just an ember. As everyone else was climbing into their sleeping bags, she went and stood near the horses, out in the only opening to the camp.

Thengise as usual jumped up in a tree and gazed at the stars. She thought about the day and all of what so far had happened. After a while she looked down and noticed that Collette was also awake. Her eyes were wandering from tree to tree trying to find Thengise. Thengise lightly jumped off of the tree behind Collette and said,"Looking for someone?", which scared Collette half to death. Thengise just giggled a bit and tried to calm her friend down.

High above, from a distance, was a figure sitting at the crotch of a tree, where two large branches spread out. This was the figure of an elf. However, there did not seem to be a very elvish air about it.

The figure slunk closer towards the group. The fire flickered and allowed his face to be seen. The leaves rustled softly as he climbed from branch to branch, and to anyone that notices him, he has the look of a wild animal etched into his eyes. Is this the elf that they had been hearing about?

Kalia waked back into the small grove. She smiled as she saw that Collette and Thengise were still awake. She walked over and assumed a reproving position.
"Why are you guys up? You need to sleep. Especially you, Collette, because you have the next watch. Now, I'll check on you in ten minutes, and if youre not asleep, I'm going to make you take the rest of my watch and your watch, even though I don't want you to," she threatened. She walked over to a log near the edge of the woods and sat down, staring at the camp. Everything seemed so peaceful... A leaf fell next to Kalia, from the tree above her. She looked up and saw what appeared to be eyes peering down at her, but they disappeared in a flash. She stood up and jumped into the tree. Sure, it could've been a bird, but she must check. She looked down at the peaceful scene below and saw a black form flash towards the group of sleeping people. Kalia gasped and jumped down, even though she was pretty high up. She landed rather hard on her feet but was otherwise ok. She scrunched up her face with pain as her injured leg had more pressure on it when she landed. She stood up and limped to the figure, who had its back turned to her. She hit it on the back of its head and it crumpled immediately. Being the only thing she could currently do, she sat on it, waiting for daylight and deciding that this was more important than sleep. When her shift was over, she could hardly keep her eyes oen and went to Collette, dragging the person with her.
"Collette, wake up! It's your turn to take watch!" she called, shaking her to awakefulness.

The person made a snarling sound, and attempted to bite Kalia. "Off, off, you giant oliphaunt!" He growled, squirming.

"Never, until I can properly see you," Kalia said, hitting him hard with a large flat rock. This succeeded in knocking her query out, so she dragged him to the others, accidentally snappeing a twig behind them. They sceamed and looked at her. A tired Kalia looked at them.
"Hi. Here, help me tie ths person. They were sneaking around and I caught them. And then, must sleep," she said, swaying. The pain in her leg was beginning to be unbearable, and she was tired from her little workout with this unknown person. As soon as the prisoner was tied up, Kalia flew up into a tree and fell asleep. She was dreaming again of looking. This time, as she was looking, a face appeared. It was giant, and she couldn't stop flying. She flew straight into it and woke up gasping.

Thengise looked at the elf which kalia had dragged over and said,"Is that the crazy elf." Thengise looked at the elf and felt bad for this was one of her own. It was her kin in a way.

Collette reluctantly took her shift- the whole crazed elf ordeal was making her jumpy. Her eyes were very heavy and she was remembering all the fun times she had had with her friends. the parties, drinking until they couldnt walk, stealing, playing jokes on collettes older sisters who enjoyed nothing better than to play dolls, ' distgusting..' she thought, and then was awoken by thengise " Curse you Collette! you slept through all the fun!!! * she pointed at the captive " you were sleeping when the person could have killed us! . go sllep!"

Thengise looked at the elf with sadness and tried to talk to it. "Hello there,"she said.

Kalia wipe the sweat off hr face as Thengise asked her about the prisoner.
"Yes, I think it is. How he escaped, I have no idea," she answered, coming down from her perch and wincing as she landed on her bottom, due to her leg. But she tried not to show it, so that Thengise wouldn't worry.

The elf could not say anything, for he has been knocked out by the stone, and only occasionally twitched.

"How did this elf get like this,"Thengise said looking sadly at the poor elf.

Collette came right up to the poor elf's face. Under his eyelid she could she a beautiful eye what looked like a purpish hazel, also tinged wiht pain and secrecy as he lie unconcious. why was he crazed in the first place she thought.

"They never really told me, but Faramir said that he had been taken prisoner in Mordor and tortured. But thats not what happened, I'm sure of it," Kalia said, limping to him. "How did you escape, my deranged friend?" she asked him, staring into his blamk face. She splashed water on him and repeated the question.

The elf sputtered at the water and appeared to be awake. "Something! Happened!" Was all that you could make our between unintelligible mumblings.

Thengise went over to the elf and saw it's condition and couldn't help but cry. "What happenes to you? Why are you in this state? Why aren't you normal?" she sobbed.

"What? Please, speak slower and a bit louder. Thengise, don't cry. Soon, we'll have him at Rivendell, and we'll make him alright," Kalia said, comforting her friend.

The elf rolled over onto his side. "Sees all! Wears all! Nowhere to be found!" He said, and then clung to the ground, tearing out a clump of dirt. "Two, one, one, two, and a leaf." He said quietly, then threw the dirt.

Collette was overwhelmed with a mixture of feelings. Sadness, for the poor elf who undoubtedly has had a rougher time in his life than this whole group together, though each of them carried some sort of pain or misery or both. never had any of them been tortured. not to this extent. She was Confused, only half knowing what was happening. And torn to being helpful adn decided to settle for giving thengise a reassuring hug about the waist.

Kalia stared at the psychotic elf in front of her. He made perfect sense earlier, when he told her to get off of him and called her an oliphaunt. But why was he uttering strange things now?

The elf's face went blank, and he rolled onto his back again, looking at the dirt that remained between his fingers. He said nothing more, but sometimes looked up at the others.

Silently, Sorell leapt down from the trees where he had been watching. He didn't partake in this sort of thing, prefered to be a quiet observer. He bent ovr er the poor deranged creature, ignoring the way he was mumbling to himself. Sorell pressed two fingers to the crazed forehead and murmered some faery words.
"Whither mooth al maen ef cran."
The demented elf opened his eyes incredibly wide and stared at them all. Sorell stood back and watched, with an air of sadness about him.

Nayru walks up behind Sorell and says, "Now everyone is going to want to know how you did that!"

"Nayru, Don't Worry. Thengise and Collete are good people. Maybe a little strange, but good. And Kalia already knows we have magic."

The demented elf stirs and looks up at Nayru. "Dirt...Water...Mud! Ahhh!"

Collette rolled over,t ossed and turned , but it was impossible to sleep. The journey was going to be tougher than she thought, But the elf didnt seem in the least bit Dangerous.

Thengise was still crying and saw that now everyone was there and watching. Sorell had done some sort of magic, but in embarrassment of her crying she jumped into the highest tree. She didn't often cry but in seemed that through at the trip she had just broken down and let out all of the tears which had been held within her. She had not let them out before for she did not want to worry her father, but she wasn't one who liked to show her emotions or cry and therefore was embarressed. As she thought about the psychotic elf she wondered what Sorell had done.

Collette coudl hear Thengise crying. she would have like more than anything now to talk to her, if hse could climb trees, but she saw no sense in moving because all seh could do was scratch at the bottom of the trunk in vain.
this adventure was goin to change her life wheather, she wanted it to or not. and the suddenly wondered what the crazy elf would eat for breakfast.....

The elf sat up, and stared at all of the people as he clawed at the ground. His eyes flickered and he crawled over to a rotting treestump. He sat down and continued to stare at them all.

Collette watched the sudden movement and decided to try to coommunicate with the elf.
She walked slowly up to him and stareed him straight in the eyes

The elf leant forward, and stared right back, not saying a word.

"Perhaps, yes, no, maybe.." he murmured. He continued to glare. But then, he kicked out, kicking the hobbit at least four feet away. He scrambled off the stump and crouched behind it.

Collette winced in pain and grabbed her leg, but no matter, he had not made her bleed and she understood that the elf did it because she understood. she understood him . she got back up to try again. last time she had gotten a partially understandable connection. why are you sad? she stared.

The elf stared back. "Uruk orc orc.." he muttered, then suddenly burst out growling. "They does it!" He shouted, and then leans against the stump.

I know it is hard to tell me these things , she said calmly and clearly. thankyou. why did they hurt you? * knowiing she will probably be kicked or worse again , but shes didnt care.*

The elf said no more, and curled up, encircling his knees with his arms. He faced sideways from Collete, and anger could obviously be seen in his eyes.

Collette looked at the elf and tried to keep her expression blank, a not to set off any emotion in him. she pleaded her question once more, in a more softer voice and dared far enough to touch the top of his hand, to try and calm his anger, taking a chance it migth worsen her position, with a bruising leg.

The elf grabbed Collette's hand, then jerked on it with a force that could probably tear the arm right out of its socket. He let go, then rested his chin upon a knee, staring straight ahead and releasing a small growling sound deep in his throat.

Kalia stood back as she watched Collette try talking to the crazed elf. When he kicked her, she got mad. He had no right kicking someone trying to be kind to him. She started forward but stopped when she saw that Collette was all right. When he curled up into a ball, she came up behind him and put a gag around his mouth, to refrain him from yelling, biting, or anything else. Collette ran up.
"What are you doing?! How will he eat?!"
"Don't worry, we'll take it off when it's time to feed him. If he could just cooperate, we'll tie his arms and legs so that he can't get away and then move him clse to the fire so he won't get cold. I'm sorry, but I've gotta do this, for our safety, and his," Kalia said, reaching for some rope.

The elf squirmed as he was gagged, but did nothing much. He turned his eyes towards the rope, wondering what she would do.. would she choke him? Tie him to a tree and do horrid things? He was not sure, but to the Orcs a rope was an instrument of torture.

"Okay, I'm pretty sure you know what rope is, so I'm going to tie your arms and legs. Don't worry, I won't be too hard. It's just so that you won't escape. Please don't struggle, or I'll have to bind you really tight and probably injure you. So please be calm and this'll take just a moment," she said softly, kneeling in front of him.

The elf growled, and pressed up against the trunk of a tree, staring at the rope waggled in front of his face. But otherwise, he made no other move to resist.

Kalia lowered the rope.
"You really don't like rope, do you? Do we have anything else we could use to contain him?" she asked the others, keeping one eye on him. They shook their heads. "Im sorry, but this is the only thing we've got. And we ant to make you better, I promise we will. But I'm only doing this as a precaution," she said, picking the rope back up.

He eventually sat still and eyed the rope more. The elf hesitated, then held out his hands, being momentarily sane.

Kalia smiled.
"Thank you. I won't tie them very tight, just so you can't escape. I'll try to be gentle, I swear," she said, winding the rope around and in between the outstretched hands. When she was done, she smiled and looked into his eyes. "Is that good? Does it hurt any?"

He nodded slowly (to the first question), then set his bound hands in his lap. His gaze drifted towards the fire, still blazing with a soft crackle every now and then.

Kalia smiled. So far, it was going good. She seemed to have a truce with him, so maybe he'd cooperate when they left, too.
"Are you cold? Would you like a blanket?" she asked, grabbing one of her own.

He shook his head, then went silent, closing his eyes halfway. So far these strangers had not harmed him, but eventually they must.

Kalia stood up. She beckoned to Collette and Thengise.
"You seem to like him, so would you watch him? I'm going to strech my wings. Running around chasing him made me a bit stiff," she said, placing the two in front of him. She walked off and shedded her cloak near the border of the forest, walking inside.

Thengise had watched everything from the tree. She jumped down from the tree to watch the elf. Her face was now dry and her tears gone. She sat by the fire but stared at the elf. From what she had heard him telling Collette it seemed that he had been torchered by orcs.

"You know, I hate orcs almost as much as you do. They took my mother's life,"Thengise said yet she showed no sadness. "I'm sure it's hard to say what happened, but I realized it's better to tell someone about. If you need to say anything or need something I will be here to listen to your every word."

Thengise began to sing an elvish song of their lore, which she thought this elf might know. She got up and sat by the elf. She looked into his eyes while still singing and saw that deep in them a faint light still remained. She wanted now more then anything to cure him.

The elf listened to the song, but seemed not to recognize it. He turned away from her, and stared blankly.

"Thengise ess nin(My name is Thengise). Man ess lin(What is your name)?"Thengise asked the elf in their own tongue realizing she did not yet know it.

He thought a moment, trying to remember, then said, "They called me Snaga.."

"Well then Snaga, do you know from which elven realm you come from?"Thengise asked wanting to know more about the elf.

[The Fifth]

'Snaga' tried to remember again, back to when before he was taken away. "..Mirkwood?" He mumbled, then turned back to face her, still glaring.

"Ah well then we are among the same elves for i am also from Mirkwood,"Thengise said not mentioning that she was the princess for she did not see it necessary.

[The Fifth]

He went silent again, then closed his eyes completely, and crumpled down to the ground. He then rolled onto his side, facing Thengise.

Thengise slowly stretched out her arm and began to stroke the elf's hair. She had more confidence around the elf, but was still afraid of what he might do.

[The Fifth]

The elf lay still, allowing anyone to do what they please with him. Even though he was asleep, he appeared to be troubled, and whimpered softly, hardly heard over the crackling fire.

Thengise kept stroking the elves hair and soon fell asleep along side him.

'Snaga' rolled around more in his sleep, muttering a few words.

Kalia looked down and saw Thengise sleeping next to their psychotic friend. She smiled and hoped that he trusted them by now. She landed next to Sorell and whispered to him.
"Hello. Do you think he trusts us? I hope so," she said, not hearing his answer. She walked over to Thengise and Snaga and looked at him. He looked almost sane, Snaga did. She smiled and softly patted his head.
