What part of the movie freaked you out most?I think the part with Bilbo, where his face is all evil lookingg when he goes to grab the ring. I've got the bravery of aragorn, and i'm telling you i went through the roof-that was freaky!
*rocks back and forth and sucks thumb*

Yes, either Bilbo or Galadriel. You thought that they were good, and then they spase out. Quite a shock.
Other scary parts are in the shire when the ringwraiths come, Bree, Moria, when the Uruk-hai attack. Those are, I think the scariest parts.

When Lurtz is standing in front of the kneeling Boromir about to shoot him.

Definitely Bilbo's face-changing thing in Rivendell. I must've jumped five feet in the theatre! And it never ceases to terrify me--I've seen the movie at least five or six times (yeah, a pitiful tally, but give me a break, I have to share the TV) and I always jump.
~*~Orual~*~

Bilbo definitely. I jumped, my mom jumped, my dad jumped...I'm telling you everyone in the theatre jumped and the guy behind me swore.
The part where the Troll pops around the corner and roars at Frodo got a little "eep" out of me when I saw it on a commercial, but that ruined it in the movie for me.

Before I saw the movie, I thought that I would be scared most in Moria with the Balrog but I was definitely most freaked out by Bilbo.

Yes, I agree, the Bilbo scene was the scariest. I don't think that the Balrog scene was that scary (it was tight though), the only part of that that was kind of scary was when they're going down the great hall and the orcs surround them, and then the Balrog growls and the orcs get scared and run, and the Balrog is coming but all you can see is the flame reflecting off the walls and the shadows (kind of a run-on sentence, huh). But I though that the second scariest part (this may seem surprising) was when Frodo comes home and the place is ransacked. The windows are open, its dark out, and there's a draft in the room. Then Gandalf pops out of the shadows and says 'Is it secret? Is it safe?' That was scary to me. And also when Gandalf yells at Bilbo, and when Frodo tries to give the ring to Gandalf. When Frodo tried to give the ring to Gandalf, Gandalf acted like he would go to hell if he even touched the ring. It was more of a suspence type of scary.

Well I agree about the Bilbo/Frodo scene.
What do you guys think about foreboding in the movie? I think it would have to be the scene in the Shire when Gandalf tells Frodo to put the ring in the fire. I just LOVE this scene and the look on Gandalf's face is just amazing. Go McKellen!

Yep. It really was Bilbo's scary face that scared the wits out of me. It was just so sudden that everybody in the theater was shocked. It was quick and scary.

Yea, the scariest part to me was DEFINATELY Bilbo freaking out. Reason being - it was totally unexpected.
If you've read the books, Galadriel's self-esteem boost was actually in the book ("in place of a dark lord, you will have a queen", etc...).
That image of Bilbo and the eye wreathed in flame pretty much did it for me. I was pretty spooked. Well, that and the CRAZY TALKIN RING! What the dealy-o there?!?!?! That was CRAZY!!!
Can't wait to see the new film T-O-M-O-R-R-O-W!!!!!!!!

Ah, the 'Bilbo Gone KooKoo' sence was definatly the scariest part of the movie.
The second most scary part was when Gandalf was going to pick up the ring were Bilbo dropped it. It was equally scray when Gandalf accidentally touches the plantir.

I myself jumped about five feet out of my chair both the first and second time I saw the movie when the Ringwraith came out suddenly from the trees near the beginning.

The first scary bit is when gandalf bends over to touch the ring and the eye comes up for a split-second. I jumped big-time.
The second was the resident favourite, the biblo turns freaky thing.

Actually I don't think the Bilbo freaking out part is scary...I think it's hilarious.
I have the dvd, so every time I see that part I freeze it...come on...I can't resist it...his eyes are turned into perfect balls.

Yah the Bilbo thing is pretty scary nut it's not the deep down spooky that I like. How about when Pippin lets the armour fall in the well and you hear far away drums in the deep. Spooky huh. (Off subject I did like how in the movie they showec the dwarven writing to book get worse and until it's just a scrawl that says they are coming)
