I just found a quote by Elijah where he was telling a reporter what his favorite line in all the movies was. Get ready, I have a feeling it will be a deeply heartwrenching moment here. Frodo is talking to Sam and says...

quote:
'But I have been deeply hurt Sam. I tried to save the Shire, and it has been saved, but not for me. It must often be so, Sam, when things are in danger: someone has to give them up, lose them, so that others may keep them.'

Elijah said that everytime he himself hears it, he begins to cry. OMG. I really can't wait until the movie now. I know it's going to be sad, but it will be soooo good.

I've always liked that line. Glad to hear it's made it into the film in full.

it is slightly desturbing when someone, who did not cry when her great grandmother died, cries at a quote from a movie/book. that quote really got to me, here's another.
"here you will dwell, bound by your grief, under the fading trees, until all the world is changed and the long years of your life are utterly spent"
thanks for postin

Digression!
I'm also happy that'll make it in....it wouldn't be LotR without some reference to the Scouring of the Shire.

Well, if TTT doesn't win Best Picture (TTT I thought was the best movie this year, but... *cough*Chicago*cough*), then I'm sure ROTK will be a very tough competetor.
I mean, come on! The most talked about and popular movie epic of the new millineum going out with a bang!
This will be the most emotionial movie I will ever see. ;-)

Oh good! That line made it to the movie?!? Great!!! I cry when I read that line in the book. I'm gonna be crying so much during ROTK. There are so many lines that just get me! Especially in the end of TTT that will now be in the beginning of ROTK. *sniffle sniffle*
