View Full Version : Amusing Thought: What if the LOTR cast are Barrowdowns Members?

I found this a funny thought.<P>What if?....Th LOTR cast were on Barrowdowns right now? Heck, you could really hate them for something they say and i turns out to be Orlando Bloom typing that message. Or you are 11 years old and become chat buddies wiht Viggo Mortensen. Amuse me and reply to what you think about this...

Its not impossible, indeed many celebs that are not associated with the LotR movies may post on various internet forums. Heck, movie/rock stars have to do normal things to. For all I know I could have been RPGing with Tom Cruise, Peter Jackson and Ron Jeremy!

definatly a weird thought. How do i know that you are not, say, Billy Boyd? And I know a few of my posts that I would rather not have Orlando see...

Actually, I've thought this same exact thing before. If I were in the movie, I would certainly be hanging out on related web sites and seeing what fans thought. Then a few months after the last movie comes out, I'd say who I was (but probably nobody would believe me).<P>What would be really cool is if PJ was a member. On some of the movie threads, he'd know exactly what the answer was to the person's question (eg threads like "What was PJ thinking?").<P>Who knows? Maybe one of our fellow downers is one of the cast or crew from the movie.

Hey, you're right! Maybe Miranada Otto is on the board right now! Hey, if your there Miranada (I can call you Miranda right) then return my calls, yeah?<P>Man, I REALLY need to get a life.

I think it would be quite interesting to see the celebrities of the movies on the Barrow-downs. I'd loved to message Peter and ask him a few questions. Hey, even better: Have them in the chat. That would be very speical. Poor Orlando and Elijah in a room of fan girls. But alas, the Barrowdowns is not an offically recognizable site i.e. such as Yahoo and have all those celebrity chats. Even the once was Unoffical Harry Potter Fan Club site got a visit from Ms. Rowling herself. So maybe if we wish hard enough..... <p>[ February 17, 2003: Message edited by: Sleeping Beauty ]

Do you really want to pretend your Miranda Otto, when you've got a pyschotic obseessive on these boards?<P>And god help poor Orlando Bloom if he is discovered on these boards....

Even if the celebs themselves don't visit these boards... I bet that people who know them do.

I heard that Elijah checks LOTR sites to hear people's opinions. I doubt he's ever joined a site though. <BR>Reality is that if you are chatting with a celebrity, chances are you will never know.

I heard that Orlando is a complete technophobe, so it's doubtful that he talks to anyone much on-line; although that could be his cunning cover-up and he's here, watching... <P>Alright, now I've scared myself.

I have heard of Peter Jackson and some of the producers visiting the boards and chat rooms of theOneRing.net, to get feedback from the fans. Also I know that Billy Boyd operates his own message board on his official website, so maybe he hangs around there.

actually, the message board billy boyd does, he barely ever gets on. I'm a member there. {lol} It has a few interviews from him where he talked to the head of the boards answering some of the member's questions, but he never talks to the actual members. It's sad, I know, but hey, he's a star {sort of}. That's just how it is.

Frankly, I personally see no reason to be paranoid about it. I say what I think, and if they don't like it, they can ignore it, just like the rest of you can. So they played really cool characters in really cool movies; in the end, they're still regular people (I'd say normal, if I believed there was such a thing). And hey, if they want to be in here unknown, that's their business (especially the ones who have to deal with the fan girl annoyance, poor guys); if I was famous, I don't think I'd tell anyone online who I was, either. I'd want to be a regular person talking about books and movies I enjoy with people who like them, too.

You know what I would think would be even more weirder than having the actors of the movie being on the Barrow Downs. How about your school teachers, neighbors and close personal friends. That would be freaky, I could be having a lovely conversation with my English teacher, or Chemistry teacher and not even know it. And then maybe you went to one of the BD regional gatherings, and you went up to meet one of the members that you enjoyed on the Forum, and it ended up being Mr. Smith or something, that would be weird. <P>(Sorry if this is a tad bit off topic, it just came to mind after I had read a few other previous posts I had made in other threads.)<p>[ February 18, 2003: Message edited by: Gorwingel ]

I had a little surprise the other day. I teach some computer classes and usually allow the students to surf the net for the last 10 minutes of the lesson. One of the kids called me over and asked if I wanted to know my name in Elvish. Uh oh.....there she was, looking at Barrowdowns. I didn't tell her I already had a name.<P>Scary stuff, but hey, we were all kids once.

I had this exact thought before, and I think I've posted it somewhere, too.<P>I think it would be fun if we were talking to one of the cast members, but as people before have said, it's unlikely that we'd ever find out. <P>Hmmmmmm . . . .
Dark Shadow

I thought of that once. Maybe they are. Myabe it's one of those things they did as a cast. <BR>"Note to cast:<BR>get an elvish tattoo.<BR>register on the Barrow-downs. <P>Strange thing to think about really... you don't know who anyone is. And they don't know who you are. It's probably the best way to get opinions about yourself really. Anonymously ask people on the net what they think of you. Now we know who's starting all the "Is Orlando Bloom hot" threads

I wish the actors would get on this site, that would be amazing. I'm not going to get paranoid about it, because that would be completely irrational; I mean, really, what are the odds of even *one* of them being here? And even if some are, I'd imagine that all the raving that would occur if anyone knew would be very off-putting. If I was a celeb, I definately wouldn't let anyone know! Annonymity would be nice for a change, you know?

Yes, anonymity is nice...<P>BTW, Meela, a name is how it's pronounced by it's owner. If I'm Russian, when I tell you my Russian name, my name is really how I pronounce it, not how someone else mispronounces it. And what's wrong with Veego?
