New Line Cinema’s The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, will be held for domestic release until Wednesday, May 12, 2004. The effects work on this third and final film of the trilogy will surpass its predecessors in scope and intensity, and the producers as well as director Peter Jackson feel that the extra time will cement the film’s status as the king of fantasy films and the crowning jewel of New Line’s massive effort to bring J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic to the screen.
Oh no!

whoo, close one there. My heart went pounding like a thousand miles per hour. Whoo. Thank God I didn't have to change my Christmas Eve plans ('cus I already made my "kidnapping" idea come true. Don't ask, let's just say it's not an easy event to get out of with my family around)

When I first saw that I was like LONGER WAIT?????????? At least it will have better special effects. Then BEFORE I knew it was an April fools, I called my cousin who also is a mega LOTR fan. He was sleeping and his wife picked up the phone. Well, I unknowingly played an April fools on her!!!!!!!!!!!! After that I wnet to it again, and at first the Staff reactions wouldn't come up! but then it did and I laughed so hard that I had been foiled by a computer LOTR site and had actually told someone else it was true!!!!!!

You really got me there, but since it's already April 2nd, I hope I'm excused. Though I have to admit that while reading it I was thinking "No, it can't be true, it can't be true, PLEASE say that it isn't true"....

Aha. That was a good one, you actually got me. I didn't read it till today, so I thought I was clear of the AF jokes. I even told my mom and we were both upset.
Come to think of it though, we may wish come December that they took more time on it.

Interesting, I read the actual thing on theonering.net just an hour ago. It didn't fool me, because they said it was an April Fool's joke before I clicked on the link.

When I first saw that I immediately knew it was an April Fool's joke (though when my sister showed me an Orlando Bloom website that had a headline that he was going to pose nude in a PETA calendar I believed that)
