View Full Version : Anduril
Was it just me or did Anduril (the sword of Elendil) not play much of a role in the movies (not half as much as in the book)?

In the books, Aragorn gets the reforged sword in Rivendell just before the Fellowship leaves. In the movies he don't, rumour has it he will get it (from Arwen) in the next one, The Two Towers...

Really, that's interesting..I didn't hear about that.PJ has made some changes of his own hasn't he? Why could he not just keep it the way it was in the book? I guess he wanted to involve Arwen more? Oh...and isn't Anduril supposed to glow?

I'm not sure about Andúril, but Sting and Glamdring were supposed to. *Hint hint*<P>Still annoyed at that poor bit of editing. (Being surrounded by orcs in Moria....look, a close-up of Frodo...STING ISN'T GLOWING! AHHHHH!!)

Indeed, I believe you are correct Arwen Melian.<P>PJ merely wanted to give Liv more onscreen time, because, as someone else put it, "Why have Liv Tyler if she only appears for small snippets in FoTR and RoTK?"<P>It makes total sense from a filkmaking standpoint, though it does annoy some avid, Tolkien fans.
