I definately have to agree with the "star-studded cast" point. In many cases, especially Jackson's, casting immensely talented no-name actors can be a wonderful thing, as LotR is a testament to.... |

Ooh, I just made this and it turned out perfect! Instead of using an iron, I put square shaped globs of batter on a slightly greased cookie sheet and baked for about 5 minutes at 350. Then I flipped... |

Yeah, Liv's perfect for the role in my opinion. And Cate Blanchett is absolutely amazing as Galadriel. I don't think Sandra Bullock would be very good as Arwen, but perhaps. She seems, well, too... |

Oh yay, people replied!
Yeah, I really wish that the big studios would give directors as much free reign as PJ had on a regular basis. I think the blinding success of the project really had to do... |

Yeah, Happy Birthday!
Back to the "pretty" thing, I think that if Elrond had been too pretty, it would have detracted from the realism of the Elves. Even if they are ethereal, they dwell in Middle... |

I personally loved Hugo Weaving in both The Matrix and LotR. I don't have a problem keeping the characters straight. And it has produced some interesting fan fiction. You know, like "Because Agents... |
