Question Heren-ing this thread . . .

Name (that you go by):
  • Birth Name: Louis Allen Ortal
  • Elven Name: Elenrod Felagund
  • BD Handle: Nilpaurion Felagund
Age: 18 . . . if you’re lucky you’ll make it just in time to see me arrested as an adult.

For espionage. Doesn’t that carry the death penalty?

Occupation: Freelance foreign policy analyst and sole employee of Wacky Entertainment Studios (I do writing and cartooning and programming and more writing . . . hey, how come I still have no profit?)

Being a student is no longer an occupation. It’s such a burden.

It wouldn’t be much of one if you study every now and then . . .

But when will I write?

Future Aspirations: To finish my novels. All of them.

Goal in life: To be a better Christian, which includes being a good child, a good friend, and a good neighbour. Which I currently am not.

Short term goals: To get that degree in German and Russian, and to collect enough Lego to build enough ships to rival the US Navy.

Hobbies: In no particular order: loafing, reading, writing, watching TV, Downing, analysing foreign policy and playing Lego.

Famous for (okay this is where you get to brag about yourself): Being quoted once in a while on national FM radio stations, almost making it to the finals of a televised quiz show, appearing on national TV six times for said quiz show, and being the only son of Finrod. Mom and her Vanyar friends spoil me.

Fave book: Still . . .
  1. All Sherlock Holmes story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
  2. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas.
  3. All tales of Middle-earth by J.R.R. Tolkien.
  4. All Jack Ryan stories, Red Storm Rising, and the Op-Center series by Tom Clancy.
  5. The works of Philip Yancey.
  6. The Little Prince by A.S. Exupery.
I also read comics, particularly enjoying Calvin and Hobbes and Archie comics.

Fave movie: Let's see . . . The best trilogy ever--I hope you all know which is that, all Star Wars, The Matrix--only, Lilo and Stitch, The Hunt for Red October, The Sum of All Fears, Independence Day, The Rock, Armageddon, Men in Black--both, Anger Management, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Wild Wild West, and Kate and Leopold.

Fave sport: These are the sports I play and/or watch. Favourite teams in parentheses.

Association Football (Real Madrid, until Zidane retires or switches teams, and Arsenal. Deutschland for Euro and World Cup), Basketball (San Antonio Spurs, although I did root for the Lithuanians during the 2004 Olympics), Chess, Scrabble, Fencing (even though I still haven’t won), and Archery.

Fave store: National Bookstore (for various needs, not only books), Book Sale (for really cheap books), and Gift Gate (the only halfway decent shop that sells Lego in this country).

Fave music: I’ve decided to list twenty of my most loved songs. Here goes (in no particular order) . . .
  • Iris by Goo Goo Dolls
  • What Can I Do by The Corrs
  • Brick by Ben Folds 5
  • If You’re Gone by Matchbox 20
  • Time Stands Still by The All-American Rejects
  • If I Am by Nine Days
  • Come Around by Rhett Miller
  • In My Place by Coldplay
  • Sick Cycle Carousel by Lifehouse
  • All You Wanted by Michelle Branch
  • Loneliest Person by Splender
  • Toxicity!!! by System of a Down
  • The Freshmen by Verve Pipe
  • Stay by Lisa Loeb
  • Semi Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind
  • Misery by The Moffats
  • Crave by Marc Dorsey
  • Best I Ever Had by Vertical Horizon
  • A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton
  • Everybody's Changing by Keane

What you can't stand: Backstabbing "friends", smokers who care not where they spout their smoke, and the fact that I am both lazy and a perfectionist - as if being a perfectionist isn’t hard enough . . .

What you plain dislike: Mass transportation (must . . . have . . . personal space . . . ) and polar co-ordinates. Oh, and vector-valued functions . . . you pretty much get the picture.

Who you admire: Still Jesus Christ . . . still the only perfect person . . . and he still isn't a perfectionist. Else I would have long burned in perdition.

What you most love to do: I guess my hobbies.

Your self-confessed flaws: I am a procrastinator, a liar, a loudmouth, a perfectionist (which gets in the way of many things), and a sloth.

What intrigues/fascinates you: Many things I do not know. One time I read the Encyclopędia Britannica article on Metaphysics just because.

What scares you: Seeing myself a few years from now. I hope I’m just being paranoid. Oh, and centipedes.

Quotation to live by:
  • Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. [James 1:21]
  • I'm trying to live a normal life, which is always hard given what I am.
  • Early to bed, early to rise--can anyone do that and not go crazy?
  • Patience is not only a virtue--it's a job description.

Additional comments: Adam is one of my alter-egos. He tried to kill me back in high school, but I made him realise killing me would kill him too. Now he torments my life.

Alice is another of my alter-ego. She rarely appears on this forum, although if you see one sentence in italics after another, one of them is bound to be her. Or if you see any writing in italics that doesn't disparage me.
