Question Heren-ing this thread . . .

Name (that you go by):
  • Birth Name: Louis Allen Ortal
  • Elven Name: Elenrod Felagund
  • BD Handle: Nilpaurion Felagund
Age: 18 . . . if you’re lucky you’ll make it just in time to see me arrested as an adult.

For espionage. Doesn’t that carry the death penalty?

Occupation: Freelance foreign policy analyst and sole employee of Wacky Entertainment Studios (I do writing and cartooning and programming and more writing . . . hey, how come I still have no profit?)

Being a student is no longer an occupation. It’s such a burden.

It wouldn’t be much of one if you study every now and then . . .

But when will I write?

Future Aspirations: To finish my novels. All of them.

Goal in life: To be a better Christian, which includes being a good child, a good friend, and a good neighbour. Which I currently am not.

Short term goals: To get that degree in German and Russian, and to collect enough Lego to build enough ships to rival the US Navy.

Hobbies: In no particular order: loafing, reading, writing, watching TV, Downing, analysing foreign policy and playing Lego.

Famous for (okay this is where you get to brag about yourself): Being quoted once in a while on national FM radio stations, almost making it to the finals of a televised quiz show, appearing on national TV six times for said quiz show, and being the only son of Finrod. Mom and her Vanyar friends spoil me.

~*~

Fave book: Still . . .
  1. All Sherlock Holmes story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
  2. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas.
  3. All tales of Middle-earth by J.R.R. Tolkien.
  4. All Jack Ryan stories, Red Storm Rising, and the Op-Center series by Tom Clancy.
  5. The works of Philip Yancey.
  6. The Little Prince by A.S. Exupery.
I also read comics, particularly enjoying Calvin and Hobbes and Archie comics.

Fave movie: Let's see . . . The best trilogy ever--I hope you all know which is that, all Star Wars, The Matrix--only, Lilo and Stitch, The Hunt for Red October, The Sum of All Fears, Independence Day, The Rock, Armageddon, Men in Black--both, Anger Management, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Wild Wild West, and Kate and Leopold.

Fave sport: These are the sports I play and/or watch. Favourite teams in parentheses.

Association Football (Real Madrid, until Zidane retires or switches teams, and Arsenal. Deutschland for Euro and World Cup), Basketball (San Antonio Spurs, although I did root for the Lithuanians during the 2004 Olympics), Chess, Scrabble, Fencing (even though I still haven’t won), and Archery.

Fave store: National Bookstore (for various needs, not only books), Book Sale (for really cheap books), and Gift Gate (the only halfway decent shop that sells Lego in this country).

Fave music: I’ve decided to list twenty of my most loved songs. Here goes (in no particular order) . . .
  • Iris by Goo Goo Dolls
  • What Can I Do by The Corrs
  • Brick by Ben Folds 5
  • If You’re Gone by Matchbox 20
  • Time Stands Still by The All-American Rejects
  • If I Am by Nine Days
  • Come Around by Rhett Miller
  • In My Place by Coldplay
  • Sick Cycle Carousel by Lifehouse
  • All You Wanted by Michelle Branch
  • Loneliest Person by Splender
  • Toxicity!!! by System of a Down
  • The Freshmen by Verve Pipe
  • Stay by Lisa Loeb
  • Semi Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind
  • Misery by The Moffats
  • Crave by Marc Dorsey
  • Best I Ever Had by Vertical Horizon
  • A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton
  • Everybody's Changing by Keane
~*~

What you can't stand: Backstabbing "friends", smokers who care not where they spout their smoke, and the fact that I am both lazy and a perfectionist - as if being a perfectionist isn’t hard enough . . .

What you plain dislike: Mass transportation (must . . . have . . . personal space . . . ) and polar co-ordinates. Oh, and vector-valued functions . . . you pretty much get the picture.

Who you admire: Still Jesus Christ . . . still the only perfect person . . . and he still isn't a perfectionist. Else I would have long burned in perdition.

What you most love to do: I guess my hobbies.

Your self-confessed flaws: I am a procrastinator, a liar, a loudmouth, a perfectionist (which gets in the way of many things), and a sloth.

What intrigues/fascinates you: Many things I do not know. One time I read the Encyclopædia Britannica article on Metaphysics just because.

What scares you: Seeing myself a few years from now. I hope I’m just being paranoid. Oh, and centipedes.

Quotation to live by:
  • Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. [James 1:21]
  • I'm trying to live a normal life, which is always hard given what I am.
  • Early to bed, early to rise--can anyone do that and not go crazy?
  • Patience is not only a virtue--it's a job description.

Additional comments: Adam is one of my alter-egos. He tried to kill me back in high school, but I made him realise killing me would kill him too. Now he torments my life.

Alice is another of my alter-ego. She rarely appears on this forum, although if you see one sentence in italics after another, one of them is bound to be her. Or if you see any writing in italics that doesn't disparage me.

Well... Since I haven't been here in over a year--I think I stopped getting on sometime the summer before last. o.O--I figure it's about time I reupdate this thing. I can't even remember if I did one on the original.

Name (that you go by): Depends on where I am. Kiki, Aki, and Sammie are the most common.
Age: 18
Occupation: College student. w00t!
Future Aspirations: To graduate, not lose my mind, and I'm debating between law and a career in theatre. Yes. I know.
Goal in life: To live.
Short term goals: To pass my American Heritage class. Where I am hanging by a thread. (Probably a bad time to renew my interest in the Downs, but what can ya do?)
Passion: *ponderponder* Probably my boyfriend, my best friend, and the rest of my dear friends. Also fantasy. And writing.
Hobbies: Roleplaying, admin on Citrine, writing, drawing, reading, and being alternately philosophical and silly.
Famous for (okay this is where you get to brag about yourself): Teasing my English professor... and getting away with it. Also for Alexander. (If you're really curious about that, feel free to ask.)

Fave book: Anything by Tolkien, Lawhead, Hans Bemman, C.S. Lewis, Diana Gabaldon (all right, so I like well-written romance, so what?), um... more authors who I cannot think of at the moment, butyeah. I think Hans Bemman probably tops the list, so The Stone and the Flute.
Fave movie: The Lord of the Rings, the original Star Wars trilogies, Dark Crystal, the Phantom of the Opera, and a few classic Disney movies I'm embarrassed to name.
Fave sport: Unless ballet counts, none.
Fave store: Either Recycled Books at home, or World Market, or some hobby store. I like crafts.
Fave music: At the moment, anime soundtracks, Voltaire (*hums The Headless Waltz*), Hayley Westenra, Maire Brennan, and assorted movie/musical soundtracks.

What you can't stand: Certain people. Who are traitors. But, ahem. Also, I can't stand Mary-Sues, people who are stupid, and people who can't take hints when bashed over the head with them.
What you plain dislike: Spelling/grammar errors (but watch me make at least one in this post and miss it entirely), bureaucracy, and getting up early for my eight o clock class.
Who you admire: Um... Cluu, Jackamy, Reist, Cat, Seth, Twiet... (Yes, I am aware that none of you know these people.)
What you most love to do: Read, write, and roleplay. Also other things, but I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear about those.
Your self-confessed flaws: I'm lazy, I procrastinate, and I have a mean sense of humor.
What intrigues/fascinates you: Human nature. And that just covers everything, doesn't it?
What scares you: Dark, men, dying/not dying, not living, and my GPA.
Quotation to live by: "What went before was only a faint dream of the beginning.
not all,
no,
very far from all."

Additional comments: Well, I'm back.

We'll see if I stick around this time.

Got to do something between WW posts...

Retaining three year old answers, let's see what's changed...

Name: Michael. Or, to some, Mike. -Still true, except many now habitually call me "Joosten."
Age: 18 +3=21
Occupation: Student/Library Page -Well, I'm still a student, and I still work with written materials, but I'm in university now and I'm an assistant archivist in the summer.
Future Aspirations: Depends on the month, but the most constant of my goals is to become a Priest. If not, then a Dad. Dunno about the day job... -I appear to have totally settled on priest, barring (pun intended) an act of God.
Goal in life: Write and publish a book. -Still would be nice, but right now I'd rather aim to not be monolingual... which will be difficult, given that I'm lazy.
Short term goals: Finish Grade 12 -Finish my BA (one more year...)
Passion: LEGO, Tolkien, Church -And one could probably add "the Barrow-downs"
Hobbies: Reading, writing, posting online, playing with LEGO... -except that I don't have time for all of the above anymore...
Famous for (okay, this is where you get to brag about yourself): Being the smart kid. I've always been known as the smart, or mature kid. The sooner I shed that image, the better. Also known about town as "the boy who wants to become a priest". Great way to avoid matchmaking old ladies, I might add.... -Still known as the smart kid, still known as "wants to be a priest." Also known as "the" Catholic in a couple circles.

Favorite books: The Lord of the Rings, obviously. Anything by Tolkien, for that matter (excepting maybe his "real" scholarly works). Actually like the Harry Potter series as well. Also anything well-written and historical tends to fascinate me. -Haven't read much fiction these past couple years... nothing new anyway. I've read a lot of Philosophy, and enjoyed it... but more the ideas than the actual reading thereof.
Favorite movie: Don't really have a permanent one. Loved the new Peter Pan! -Still nothing permanent, but I would probably pick the Chronicles of Narnia.
Favorite sport: Bunnock That's right, you've never heard of it before... -No change.
Favorite store: Toys 'r Us, or possibly any Mens' Wear store. -TRU is still a big hit, but my idea of good clothes leans ever closer to cassock and surplice.
Favorite music: Classical, Country -And anything liturgical with Latin &/or an Organ.

What you most love to do: Hanging out with friends, go to church, acting, reading, writing, vegetating, sleeping... -same, except I haven't acted in years...
Who you admire: John Paul II, J.R.R. Tolkien, Alec Guiness, and a plethora of others... -most notably including Papa Benedetto, St. Thomas Aquinas, and quite a number of other Catholics.
