I agree with Meela on several key points, although the term 'leader' is being used rather loosely here. In terms of a wartime strategic leader, I would choose Faramir, since his is well respected, down to earth, able to make quick decisions and very keen (not that Aragorn is not all of these). Faramir seems to be a better choice to lead a host or company. Aragorn is probably the better pure fighter, and a case could be made that he would be a better wartime leader because of his prowess at the Hornburg.

As for a leader of the people, I would have to choose Aragorn. Faramir's skills are better suited for military duty. I think Aragorn would definitely the better choice to lead a country, as is clearly shown at the end of the Return of the King.

I think this is a rather pointless topic, because Aragorn was the heir of Isildur and obviously more capable of running Gondor than the Stewards, and because the word 'leader' is used vaguely. Faramir is perhaps a better military commander.
