Feanor?! Feanor?! I must say, ladies, that I fail to understand your reasoning. Why not go after the only one of the sons of Finwe with at least half a brain? I mean, Finarfin is obviously the smartest of his brothers, who thinks enough of his people to lead them back to Valinor and be forgiven by the Valar. This is more noble than not following what you KNOW is right and following your people. Fingolfin ended up dying because he did the opposite. Sorry if I sound offensive. I had no intention of doing so.
Turgon is also on my list. I've always liked Gondolin. I imagined it to be the most lovely of all the elf-kingdoms. Finrod is cool, but since he's not a high king... <font size=1 color=339966>[ 8:46 PM January 20, 2004: Message edited by: Laitoste ]

I would say Fingolfin would be the best High King of the Noldor because he was fearless. He challenged Morgoth to single combat.

So many Fingolfin fans. And I join their ranks. Fingolfin is the High King of the Noldor.

Hmm.I'd have to say, Finwë. He is truly one of, if not, the bravest. I mena, when your entire city and defence abandons you in fear, and you're the only one standing up to pure evil, you gotta have a lot of guts. Another admerable quality about him was that he would give his life, and did, for the protection of his son's work. Now that's good parenting!

Finwes heart did stay with Feanor, he even defended Formenos by himself when all others fled...i wonder if that fortress is still being used?

Yeah. When the Noldor returned at the end of the First Age, they probably went back there. Yeah, Finwë did so much, and Feanor did a great job repaying him. He was honerable in all aspects of life.

I'd have to say Gil-Galad or Feanor. I'm not sure why, I just like their characters1
