I would definatly be most scared at the top of Amon Shûl, with five terribly fierce Nazgûl slowly surrounding you, and the Witch-King trying to seize the ring. Try imagining that, four Hobbits against five of the Nazgûl whit the Witch-King as their chieftain. I would have been scared to death.
The Pellenor, or the helms deep would not at all be as terrifying as facing the Nazgûl, because in open war one get the chance of fighting equal opponents, and dying a noble and worthy death instead of perishing surrounded by Nazgûls and fell beasts.
