Hey, Stacey, been a while since I posted here, but I've been trying to cut back...although not very successfully. Those expansion packs look great--I don't have any of the Return of the King or the Elves. Maybe I need to scope out ebay for more cards...
The only things new for me are a couple of 3 figure sets in the 3-inch figures: Fighting Fellowship with Fighting Gimli, Fighting Aragorn & Fighting Legolas The Capture of Sméagol which has a Gondorian Ranger Bowman (with hood & mask), Faramir (wearing his White Tree leather tunic), and Sméagol/Gollum (crouching & complete with fish) Quote:
**totally unfair** There is a little video located in the menu of the game called "Hobbits on Gaming", which interviews Dom, Billy & Elijah on playing video games. Billy made a quote at the very end which I felt was extremely appropriate for me. He said: "I think I have a special gift for gaming. I just haven't opened it up and given it to myself yet." Stacey, maybe we should just open up that gift and give it to ourselves, too!!

LOL, maybe we should, Miss Lynn.
![]() Today I recieved the patch I ordered off of ebay. Very unique indeed. As of today, one of my collectibles is being "changed". I was playing with my dog this morning, wearing my Hobbit shirt, 'cause I so rarely get to wear it. Well, my puppy, being big an' rough as he is, jumped on me, grabbed a hold of the shirt with his teeth, and r-r-r-r-r-rip! My mother said she could cut off and sew the picture part (of our four Hobbits) onto another shirt. That'll be okay, I never really cared for the fact that the shirt was black, anyway...not my color...

I discovered an interesting LotR collectible item in a little shop in Heidelberg recently - 3-D figures lasered into glass cubes! (The company manufactures lots of other figures, and what I bought was not LotR, but I thought it would be interesting to show to all of you.) Alas, the website pictures can't show the astonishing detail and the wonderful effect of the figures, which consist of thousands of tiny dots and can be viewed from all sides. The ring, floating diagonally in the glass cube, looks particularly spectacular. The site is in German, but you'll see the "Special: Lord of the Rings" link which takes you to that page. Enjoy!

Those are cool.
Of course I would want a Sam with Frodo to go with him, (if I had that kind of dinero at the moment) but Arwen is done just gorgeously, too.I was bumping around ebay recently looking for something also totally not-LOTR related, and found THIS . It's probably something other folks have seen before, but I never had. Very cool, 'specially with all the Sams.

My goodness, what an impressive book collection, davem!! Some of those I have recently bought - it would be interesting to hear your opinion on them.

Has anyone else got the very peculiar Lord of the Rings tarot cards? I found these in a shop in York a while ago. A few years ago I also found a copy of The Tolkien Family Album in one of those remaindered book shops for £1.99. I was looking at it the other day and was horrified/delighted to discover it is a first edition. |

Esty I do like the Road goes Ever On - not exactly my kind of music, but it has strong associations with Tolkien. I especially like Galadriel's Lament, which Tolkien sings on the Audio collection. |

Wow, davem, I am ever so jealous.
I've got some radio recordings as well; one is on a bunch of CDs and it's actually quite good, except for the fact that they take the "stress is usually on the second to last syllable" rule too much to heart, hence they say "Legolas" and "Denethor." I guess they never made it to Appendix E! The other is on cassette tapes and I have yet to listen to it... I'm hoping it's the BBC one with Ian Holm voicing Frodo. |
