As both a British citizen and a fan of the Beatles, I felt it my duty to parody them.

"Being for the benefit of Mr Wight" to the tune of "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!" from "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"

For the benefit of Mr. Wight
There will be a show tonight
on trampoline
The Nazgul kings will all be there
Late of Minas morgul Fair
what a scene
Over men and horses hoops and garters
Lastly through a hogshead
of real fire!
In this way Mr. W. will challenge the world!
Mr Wight, with a fate.
Performs his feat on Saturday
at Helm's gate
The Nazgul kings will dance and sing
As Mr. wight flys through the ring
don't be late
Messrs. K and H. assure the public
Their production will be second to none
And of course Henry The Horse dances the waltz!
(Crazu music)
The band begins at ten to six
When Mr. Wight. performs his tricks
without a sound
And Mr. H. will demonstrate
Ten summersets he'll undertake
on solid ground
Having been some days in preparation
A splendid time is guaranteed for all
And tonight Mr. wight is topping the bill

Listen up corpses and dead things,
Come here my desperate tale
I speak of our friends of graveyards,
Trapped in the dirt like a jail
Barrow Wights live in oppression,
Sent to sleep by Bombadill
This sleeping of Wights is madness,
I say we take up the fight
Living is only for murderers,
Surviving’s a fascist regime
Don’t think downers don’t have feelings,
just cause the skeletons can’t scream

I’ve heard the screams of the Barrow Wights,
Watching their skins being peeled
Rotting and stinking with no mercy..
How do you think that feels?
Autopsies constitute murder.
Grave yards, prisons for slaves
It’s time to stop all this living.
let’s call the Witch king to help.

I saw a man living happily,
So I beat him black and blue
If he ever draws a breath again,
I’ll bite him clean in two
I’m a political prisoner,
Trapped in a windowless grave
’cause I stopped the burning of corpses,
By killing five men in a rage
I told the judge when he sentenced me,
this is my finest hour..
I’d kill those undertakers again,
just to make one more barrow Wight

Saucepan man: Morning.
Barrow Wight: What's new?
Saucepan man: Not much.
Fire foot: Morning!
BW & SpM: Morning!
SpM: Wight was just asking, "what's new?"
Fire foot: Nothing.
BW: Here look, Underhill's being eaten!
SpM & Ff: Is 'e?
Bw: Makes you think doesn’t it!
SpM: Yea,
BW: I mean, what’s it all about?
Ff: Beats me.

Why are we here, what's Silm all about?
Are Elves really real, or is there some doubt?
Well tonight, we're going to sort it all out
For tonight it's the Meaning of Wight.
What's the point of all this hoax?
Is it the Dragon and the egg time,
Are we just yolks?
Or perhaps we're just one of Melko's jokes.
Well ça c'est the Meaning of Wight.

Is death just a game where we read the forum rules,
While we're searching for something to say,
Or are we just simply spiralling coils,
Of self-replicating DNA?

Is there Mirth and Quiz rooms? Do we always debate?
Do Balrogs have wings or is it too late?

For millions this site is a glad vale of death,
Sitting round with nothing to post,
While scientists say we're just spiralling coils,
Of self-replicating DNA

I have here a short concoction based on Les Miserables:

Do you hear the Downers sing
Singing the songs of mirthy men
They are the songs that even elves can't sing
But orcs can squeal on end

When the beating of your heart
Plays to the beating of the Wight
Estelyn, Underhill, and Sharku
Will sing this too!
