Child of the 7th Age is a guest of Tom Bombadil.
Best of luck and congratulations! Your life will change. Oh how it will! It's as if you walk out the door and are swept along by something you never even knew existed before. I am sure you will do great with the child rearing. My one and only piece of advice is to make sure you both get enough sleep in the coming weeks.

...or quickly learn to live on less - or none.

Do we get to see a picture? And note that, when told the baby's weight, Ms. alatar said, "Ouch!" (even with the cesarean thing).

I bet Mrs Alatar will have even more sympathy when you tell her the "Caesarian thing" was after 2 days of labour.... that is still a very big OUCH as far as I am concerned... and I've realised that this one was bigger than the combined birth weight of my friends twins ...

Anyone who thinks that women aren't tough hasn't witnessed up-close-and-personal pregnancy, labor and childbirth. From the male point of view; sure, when living with a pregnant woman/'helping' in the delivery, you risk your life with every utterance or act. But what amazes me is that, after carrying the child for 40 weeks or so (the whole idea of something alive inside of me is too much like 'Alien' for comfort), going through the process of labor - in Lalwendë's case, two days! - upon seeing the child it's like the whole ordeal never happened. And they may even, knowing what they know from a first child, go back and do it again!

There is some interesting research that shows that women do forget just how painful it is surprisingly quickly which I suppose is natures way of maintaining the population... but I can't quite believe it, but then I went drinking with a obstetrician at an impressionable age ...and that really put me off

Mister Underhill has been trapped in the Barrow!
Eleven-three! That's a big boy. Well, at least he wasn't eleventy-three.

Congratulations! My small tip: keep a journal handy if you haven't already started one. Those first few months go by in a sleepless blur and later on you might really enjoy looking back on your thoughts and feelings from what will surely be one of the most intense times of your lives.
