Hmmph. That makes perfect, perfect sense.
It just feels like... well, example. Compare it to Frodo telling Sam about the beauty of Smaug's Treasures as if he'd seen it himself, though we know he never really saw the Lonely Mountain: he just learned it from Bilbo. Okay. Thread closed. I'll stop complaining.
