For a second I read baker as banker, and I thought what on earth do cupcakes and scones have to do with it.

(Did I not choose the right occupation? Except that now it's more of a half-blindness than half-deafness.)

I was hoping the game would start earlier. If it does not start, like, now (which it likely won't) I might have to drop out.

In a couple of weeks I'm leaving for a week, then I'm back for a couple days and gone again, so I won't be able to play.

I'm still in if the number of players suddenly doubles in the next week or so, but if not...

I think maybe the moot in the UK has a lot of the usual players occupied just now.
I wouldn't despair. Summer's usually a time with lower participation anyway, it seems.
