This rating system does seem to be a teeny bit illogical.
Someone can join with a friend and rate each other 5. Then, if no-one rates either of them again, they stay a 5 for the duration. But, if someone consistently posts intelligent and/or witty and/or thought-provoking comments, but some people disagree with them, they're rating will fluctuate. Wouldn't it be better to have a system that builds up ratings over time, so that consistently good posters will get more highly rated over time, while the "one-off"ers will never get a rating? Or have I misunderstood how it works? And is it that important anyway?
