Why do we not hear anything about the other Rings? - The Barrow-Downs Discussion Forum

Gandalf, when he was explaining rings to Bilbo, said that there were many magic rings in the world, and bilbo's was perhaps one of them. Most would make you invisible and eventually, if you wore it too much, fade, BUT only the great rings bestowedlong life. So the lesser rings were practice rings and just helped you turn invisible or whatever like that, the fact that they are little mentioned just shows us that they were essentially of no consequence.
