A friend asked me if Frodo dies in RotK, and I told her yes, he does, because he becomes evil and takes the ring and Sam has to push him into Mt. Doom.

Eek, Elennar! I think I'd be more upset at the Sam pushing him in part! I hate to think of Sam being *pushed* to that kind of decision. I think you told a half truth, rather than a lie, and that should make your friend's final reaction even more interesting!

P.S. I haven't found any other hobbit-fanciers in my area! They're all on about Legolas and Aragorn--every one of them! Oh well! At least my husband isn't! His favorites are Gandalf and Gollum...
