--When you have supersonic hearing for LotR. I met a rather cool guy that way...

--When said guy lends you an Elvish/English (sadly, I don't have one of my own due to being a poverty-stricken high-school student) and your reaction is to dance around the room squealing.

--When you make said guy sign up on the Downs (HI, ONIGENE!)

--When you translate both your name and the name of the guy you have a crush on into Elvish (and no, that is not the same guy as the guy who lent me the dictionary).

--When you translate the name of your best friend into Elvish, even though she doesn't like it...

--When you occupy yourself by writing LotR fanfiction.
