Okay, thanks for the info. I really didn't understand what Frodo was doing, but now I do! I might have a look at the other books you mentioned, though I'm sorry to say I'm not too good at reading history-type things, which I know Tolkien did a lot of. It doesn't really keep my interest.. I just love reading about the characters, the mystery and the beautiful lands..
