Lostgaeriel has just left Hobbiton.

Meela suggested that the Bee Gees’ “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart” be rewritten as “How Can You Mend a Broken Sword” sung by Aragorn. Here it is!

How Can You Mend a Broken Sword

I can think of younger days when living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do.
I could always see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow.

And how can you heal a Morgul wound?
How can you stop Frodo from falling down?
Sauron will stop the sun from shining.
What makes Arda go round?
How can you heal this awful wound?
How can a Ranger be the King?
Please help me heal the Ringbearer and let me be the King.

I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees
And misty memories of days gone by
We could always see tomorrow, no one said a word about the sorrow.

And how can you mend a Broken Sword?
How can you wear Gondor’s lofty crown?
How can you stop Arwen from whining?
What makes Arda go round?
How can you mend this Broken Sword?
How can a Ranger be the King?
Please help me mend my Broken Sword and let me be the King.
