"It hatches like a bird, yet grows as fast as evil, it makes the earth quake, yet it stays still 4ever...what is it?"

River?

It hatches from between the rocks as a tiny stream. It grows fast into a river though you cannot point out exactly when it becomes that. It makes the earth quake as a waterfall. The RIVER never moves, only the water.

It comes in, It goes out.
To let it go for good is to die
Hold it too tight and it never returns
