Character Types

Dwarves (main characters) and orcs (secondary characters).

Please note for each character type needed:

Dwarves: 12 total: 8 Males named by Tolkien + 2 additional Males (1 of whom is much older than the others and very traditional; the other 1 of the gamer’s choosing); 2 Females.

Note: these Dwarves are the dwarves who set out from the Lonely Mountain to Moria and do not include Dain Ironfoot except as a briefly played character.

If you are playing a female, please look in Appendix A under Durin’s Folk and read about Dis, the mother of Fili and Kili.

1 Orc captain + 3 Orc minions.

These are secondary characters. If a player would like to play a dwarf and an Orc, that is fine as well. These would be good characters if you do not have a lot of time.)
