Can you clarify this for me? You say about 30 miles (ten leagues) from Edoras there is a ford across the Snowbourne. The Easterlings are on the northern bank of the river - why would they think of crossing it and where would they have gone if they did?

"Snowbourne." He grunted in reply. "We will cross the ford."

So, the Easterlings are crossing south across the River Snowbourne? And what are they heading for - the River Entwash?
