If the thieves are on the north side of the Snowbourne, they will need to ford to the south side, so they can skirt the forest and camp at the fork of the Entwash. Getting there by Thursday Jan 2 real time is fine--a day's delay does not hurt due to the holiday.

You are right, Maika, that the thieves should have horses. On foot they would be caught too quickly. Or they can use some of the stolen ones.
