I dont think he could have killed the nazgul as he wasn't good at sword-fighting. Even if he managed to kill one or even two(which is far-fetched) the other 4 would swoop down on him for one because he stabbed their companion, and not to mention the ring drew them to frodo, frodo could not have fought off all 5 nazgul, sword-on-sword. One possibility I could see is if he could stay them off with sting until aragorn rushed in, but besides that doubtful...
