Hi all, First off, this is my first post here! Cool site! Anyway, my own thoughs about the Ring; I think that you have to remember that the effects of the Ring increased when the dark power emerged from Mirkwood again, increasing the potency of the Ring's effect on Frodo compared to Bilbo. Also, I think the reason that Bilbo could see Gollum so well is the same reason that Frodo could see the Nuzgul. Gollum had the Ring for so long that he was kind of in the shadow realm that the Ringwraiths inhabited. Therefore, Gollum was probably MORE visable with the Ring on than without.
