The Hobbits had only that one experience with tagging - and they, of course, only did it out of necessity.

The Elves, on the other hand, elevated this new form of calligraphy to a high art form and preserved it into the 7th Age. It is, in fact, one of the ways unwelcome travellers to the Blessed Lands are warned off. The Elven turf is well marked to prevent the incursion of any rival gangs.

Unfortunately, the remaining orcs who survived the Ages took over this 'art' form and have also made it their own. Some for good, some for bad, as modern day shadow creatures are wont to do.

But seriously, folks -

I thought Sharon wanted the Hobbits in Minas Anor first(to account fo that underground dwelling we found earlier in the story). Then they have the diaspora north and west to the lands they eventually settle.

It was my understanding that Minas Anor had been in existence since the very late 2nd Age. How about we venture up as far as Pelargir, an ancient haven of Gondor, with the Hobbits and then they can trek up through Lebennin to Minas Anor.

We can head upriver about a hundred years before the dawn of the 3rd Age and drop them off.

Will that work?
