Eruwen's heart cringed as she peered ahead into the darkness beyond them. She knew what lay ahead---an evil, black foe which had been sulking in the shadows of her cave for many ages now.

As they journeyed along the road, the entrance to the stairs became more visible. The time had now come. The beginning of the end of their quest stood before them as they stared into the cave which beheld the stairs of Cirith Ungol. Khôrbar was the first to enter, followed by the remainder of the group. Eruwen followed from behind.
