As I was composing the last post, Mithadan and Underhill stated in different ways, but far more concisely, much the same thing!

Which I think illustrates the point beautifully.

Everyone except an outright Orc or Dark Numenorean will appreciate Tolkien to some degree!

(This, by the way, was post 777 for me, and if there is significance beyond coincidence in that, feel free to enjoy it and to praise the appropriate Authority!)
