I really like this thread. It questions the morals of fighting and the justification.

I meant only in Tolkien's LOTR battles. Aragorn and Theoden were always outfront, I think that's a great leader, willing to fight to the end for your people. You were right in saying that WW1 was nessesary. It turned the corner on the depression and raised the spirits of alot of countries. Oh course, war is bad and evil and all of the above, but it does serve a purpose.
