In fact, you can count on the Council scene as a whole being considerably abridged and compressed in the movie. Filming it verbatim would take up half of the film's running time. You'll get the highlights, and some pertinent information may be shifted to other scenes (for instance, I hear tell there may be a &quot;prologue&quot; showing the Last Alliance, Sauron's defeat, Isildur's blunder, and some other history of the Ring, meaning that stuff can be taken out of the Council scene). <p></p>
