Give her a break? Ummm....no. First of all, I'm not saying Harry Potter is good, bad or otherwise. It's apples and oranges. Harry Potter is basically simple adventures aimed at entertaining children and young adults with nothing more than simple adventure and good fun in mind. Tolkien, a literary and linguistic genius, created an entire world, written language, several spoken tongues, history and stories long before anyone else had even thought about such a thing. I'm sorry, but her statement was just so ludicruous as to be beyond laugable. I just had to shake my head at her pure moronism.
