I didn't like Boromir when I first read the books but I did started to like him after watching The Fellowship of the Ring because they humanized the character somewhat!Also you have to applaud Sean Bean's portrayal of him as I believe how he played him had a lot to do with many of us starting to like Boromir for the first time!
