JRRT was trying to create a myth and in myths there are always questions left unanswered for the readers to wonder about. Unanswered questions are some of best and worst parts about JRRT's works because the reader will always be wondering about the unsolved mysteries. That could be a good thing or a bad thing.

The power and magic of the elves is one such mystery that can never be truly solved by substantial evidence. There's only speculation.

Atleast that's my take on it. If any of you know better than I do, please feel free to correct me. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]
