Book Fans vs. Movie Fans - The Barrow-Downs Discussion Forum

Wow.. I must be the only one who saw Fellowship and thought it was kinda boring. BUT i read the books anyway as I was curious why there was so much hype. So, here's what I think after I read the books:FOTR: Very boring in the beginning but some parts were just AMAZING namely Tom Bombadil, Lothlorien, Galadriel, Prancing Pony, Flight to the Ford.. heck, starting from The Old Forest the book just gets better and better.:P TTT: Now this is probably my favorite book. Non-stop action. Great character development throughout the book ROTK: Sad, sad, sad. Truly wonderful.Although I thought FOTR(the theatrical version) was a little boring, I absolutely loved the Extended version. I know, it's longer, but it's also more complete and fufilling and has a much better introduction, in my opinion (I only read the Hobbits after Lotr).So, do I consider myself a proper fan? Yes, I think so. Because I love the books, I've also become a fan of the movies (no matter how crappy they are :P). It's hard not to love anything related to Middle Earth.
