Not all the Elves were I believe. I think there were a few that lived. {With the exception of Legolas of course}
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that a few of them survived.

 In the book, no. There was only one elf at Helm's Deep, and that was Legolas. He didn't get killed.

 In the Two Towers preview that is packaged with the theatrical FoTR, there is a daytime establishing shot of Helm's Deep which is obviously after the battle as the Deeping Well wall has been breached. It seems we go back to Helm's Deep early in RoTK, so perhaps we'll find out more about how many survived the battle.
Many of them likely were driven back into the caves, as they were in the book.
H.C.

 Well, I am sad if all those elves had to die, they were not even supposed to be there. I hope we get to find out if any of them lived.

 Nah them dying is not all that sad seeing that the Elves where leaving middle earth anyway and since Elves Fea (soul)only stay in the Halls of Mandos for a short time (unless cursed like Feanor) they will be back to their elf day to day lives soon enough though most likely in Valinor not Arda.
[ February 03, 2003: Message edited by: Deathwail ]

 I don't think tehy died, but you don't see them again in TTT. But, the elves probably wouldn't go out and get themselves killed for no reason in a desperate cavalry charge. Also, in the book, some of the men get trapped in the caves of Argothrond with teh women and children. maybe some of teh elves are supposed to have gotten pushed back to theere in teh TTT.
