I still can't read Gandalf (or any other wizardly old man or prophet) without lapsing into a John Huston impersonation. (See my signature for a link to several RealAudio clips where I read from Tolkien's works.)<P>Beorn was NOT in the animated version, but I think they did draw him in their planning. He must have been dropped, for there is a Beorn drawing in the Rankin-Bass illustrated book.<P>I did NOT like RotF by Rankin-Bass. I did like the Bakshi animation of LOTR, but it had many flaws, especially being unfinished.
