| Prince Imrahil?

On all the cast lists I've seen, Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth appears to be unmistakably absent. Does anyone know if he’ll be making an appearance in RotK, and if not, why not? Will they simply have Faramir wake up sooner, and become steward of Gondor in Denethor’s place?
Sorry about all that, I’m just curious (and slightly angry at the idea that they would cut him out of the movies).
- Shadow

I really doubt whether Imrahil will make an appearance, which is a crying shame really. He was one of my favourite characters.
[ February 08, 2003: Message edited by: Inderjit Sanghera ]

Ah ha. I just found Imrahil on the cast list on the One Ring. net. However, the fact that the name isn't a link doesn't seem too good. All the "main" characters have links for their names. Oh please don't tell me he'll turn up, fight a battle and go home again.

No way. Well, I could see that happening actually. I mean after Haldir.... But then again, there are plenty of deaths in RotK anyway, it hardly needs adding to. Well, at least he's on the list. That means Dol Amroth will have to show up at some point (I was dreading another "Elves at Helms Deep" situation, where suddenly a host of elves turns up instead of the men of Dol Amroth....). Oh well. I guess we'll wait and see.

Dark Shadow - where was the cast list you saw? I've just looked around tORN and can't find one with Imrahil on it.
Also I am fairly sure there will be no Beregond or Bergil.

I don't think they'll put in Beregond or Begil in either, just more names to remember, but I really liked Imrahil. Also- a little of topic- what was the point of killing Haldir? I really liked him too! I mean, I wouldn't want them to cut it out or anything, it was the saddest part and really well done, and the arrival of the Elves was also one of my favorites, but it was kind of randomly thrown in...Maybe PJ wants to show that its not all happily ever after...dunno.

There was some rumour going around that Nick Nolte had been cast as Beregond. But I think it was just a rumour.

If you go on www.tbhl.com, Beregond is actually on the cast list. This is Peter Jackson's own website, so I hope he is not lying to us! I'm afraid I saw no Prince Imrahil but I think i saw Dol Amroth mentioned, I'll go back and see

Goldberry, Radagast, Halbarad, Beregond, Bergil, Glorfindel ??
I don't think that cast list is correct, DarkShadow. Some of these characters are completely written out already.
Naldoriathil - I couldn't get the link to work. Anyone else try it?
[ February 09, 2003: Message edited by: Tar-Palantir ]

That's cool, they've updated that list since I last saw it. Just because someone's name turns up however, doesn't mean that they have a large part - or even a speaking part!
The fact that they have a link, a biography and a picture for characters like Uglúk and even the Mouth of Sauron, but have nothing of the sort for Prince Imrahil, does not bode well.
Other nervous Imrahil fans can be found on this thread.
So long as they get his costume right I'll be... kind of happy, I suppose. He was always the most glamourous character in my mind. Go the Swan Knights! Oh, no! I just realised, I know a spoiler about them. Alas!

I really think Imrahil will get the same treatment as Gil-galad. You may be able to pick him out, but no lines.
H.C.

Yeah. I didn't even notice Gil-Galad the first 10 or so times I watched it. I was convinced that was Elrond then I watched it again last night and just about picked him out. Well, I guess we'll just have to cross our fingers, but judging on how much they have to fit in they'll probably cut his character. I'll miss that. I was looking forward to seeing if they could find any actor perfect enough . yes, elves are supposed to be the fairest of all, but somehow Imrahil and his men always came across as better looking than any of the elves... I don't know why though...
