I've given up comparing the book and film, they're too different in the end. I mean, you can compare (say) the characterisations, but a book and a film? It's like comparing...a doughnut to a bag of chips! (I don't know where that analogy came from)I have to say i love both to bits- but in different ways for different things. presumably it's gonna be people who like books who prefer the book and vice-versa. there is just one thing i HATE in the film and thats Faramir. They ruined a brilliant character! And a whole flipping storyline! And what was Denethor doing in Osgilliath ("Take them to my father") anyway? (sorry, but i have to rant \bout this ocassionally)
