There were many women who were warriors, but they were never as praised as men.... see the fellowship, for example,they were all men. But you can't forget that when Tolkien wrote LotR, women didn't do so much in terms of war....... What I mean is that were not so recognized as they should have been.

I think women in ME could have been warriors, or knew how, but they prefered to do other things.... Luthien, Galadriel, and somany others did great things without handling the sword or the bow..
