Yet again, Only Real Estel. (let me know if this gets irritating) I don't wish to copy and quote your entire post, so I'll just say that you put just about everything I would.
Gorwingel as well, except that even as a girl, I've always loved swords and bows and arrows. Just about anything that could remotely fall under the category of "Middle Ages" not to mention "Middle Earth" will catch -and hold- my attention.
My own certain observations are that Aragorn and Sam (in addition to Boromir) were perfectly represented. Completely flawless. I was pleasantly surprised to see them, and I was speechless the moment I saw both of them; I blinked a few times to make sure I wasn't hallucinating, they were so exactly as I had imagined them that it was actually a bit scary.
The ringwraiths were awesome, their cries...horribly remarkable.
I absolutely loved both movies, and the soundtrack is doubtless the best I have ever heard.
I have now become quite certain that I shall go on indefinitely should I choose not to stop. So, rather than fill this entire thread myself, I shall make my last observation and be done.
For every little thing that Peter Jackson did "wrong", there are a hundred that he did right. And for that, I thank him.
[ August 20, 2003: Message edited by: Arwen Eruantale ]
