I didn't like some of their casting choices, but the excellence of the others more than made up for it. Faramir's acting was great, as was Pippin's and Gandalf's. The only thing I didn't like about Denethor was that horribly overdramatic scene in which he throws himself from the citadel. How ridiculous. It utterly stripped him of any nobility he had had.
