Nimrothiel has just left Hobbiton.
Um, did Sleepy Ranger not just do that?

Here are my choices; they are a combination of the books and the movies:

Best overall character: Faramir (only person other than Aragorn who resisted the temptation of the Ring; exellent captain of the army)
Best male character: Aragorn (come on, he gets to be the king, and look at what he goes through to get there)
Best female character: Eowyn (takes out the Witch-King, need I say more?)
Best creature: Treebeard (best visual effects done on an inanimate object ever; plus his voice sounded exactly the way I thought it should)
Best monster: The Watcher in the Water (the scene was a little longer than it should have been, but the visuals were worth it)
Best villain: Sauruman (Sauron is just a flaming eyeball, Sauruman is much more active in carrying out his plans for world domination)
Best monologue: Aragorn's "This day we fight" speech (exellent, it set the tone for the scene very well; but his voice got a little funny in some places)
Best dramatic scene: Faramir and his men riding to their doom (Pippin's song added a lot more feeling to this scene, but it was good just by itself)
Best death scene: Boromir's (most realistic looking, plus most moving)
Best comic character: Pippin ("Fool of a Took!" and "What about elevenses, lunch, dinner, supper, afternoon tea?! He knows about those right?" kill me every time)
Best Maia: Gandalf (who knows how many centuries old, and he still kicks a$$)
Most missed chacter: Glorfindel (having Arwen rescue Frodo just killed that whole scene)
Best supporting character: Samwise Gamgee (do I really need to explain this one?)

And now for the other end of the stick:

Worst overall character: Sauron (he just stays in Barad-dur all the time and looks around; even Legolas is better than that)
Worst male character: Haldir (totally unnecessary at Helm's Deep, and his death scene was terrible)
Worst female character: Arwen (in far too many scenes, and her acting wasn't that great)
Worst creature: The Wargs (give me a break, they looked like hybrid hyenas!)
Worst monster: Shelob (about half the size I imagined, and not terribly frightening)
Worst villain: Sauron (see "Worst overall chacter")
Worst monologue: Any of Frodo's (well, his last one in "Return of the King" wasn't too bad, but he just killed the rest of them)
Worst dramatic scene: Faramir and Frodo squaring off over the one Ring (let me just say that this never happened that way, and Faramir resisted the temptation of the Ring)
Worst death scene: Haldir's (not in the book, and a waste of slow-motion effects which also made the awful scene longer)
Worst comic character: Gimli (I'm not even touching this one)
Worst Maia: Sauron (see "Worst villain")
Least missed chacter: Tom Bombadil (sorry, but his constant singing in the books really annoyed me)
Worst supporting character: Grima Wormtongue (reminded me too much of Snape from "Harry Potter")
