Correct. But Thranduil's father was Oropher, not Orodreth. Orodreth lived in the First Age.

NightKnight has it! Oropher died because he rushed too quick AND was ill-armed so, the NK man its your go! Edit: Oropher founded Greenwood i believe, then Thranduil just became the new king
