When Gandalf came alive! I'd never truly thought him dead - no one does - but I was so happy I was crying.
(My cousin was really mean and took the book away so that she and my sister could both watch my reaction to that. They both want to get back to the wild happiness of that first read - I see why they wanted to watch - but I was going mad with suspense...)
When Beren shows his hand - well, lack of hand. That was sooo sad.
When Turin kills Beleg and he's so stunned.
This might sound very minor, but when Strider is upset that they don't trust him. I just love that bit. All of it, but best of all when he says 'But I must admit,' he added with a queer laugh, 'that I hoped you would take me for my own sake.
