I've been looking, but it took me some time and brain-racking to find this one!

this is Denethor speaking to Gandalf in Minas Tirith:
"For though the Stones be lost, they say, still the Lords of Gondor have keener sight than lesser men, and many messages come to them."

(Btw : This is almost a lie! At least Denethor is deliberately hiding the truth about the palantir from Gandalf. )
